Helps prepare for a TEF exam Updated review. It's good as a training / practice tool, just one minor thought in line with other reviewers. The TEF marks each answer separately, but the app treats a multi-step question as one, giving either correct or incorrect. It won't tell you which part was which. Would be nice to have a breakdown in the marking.
Good practice for tef There is decent material to help you get used to the question format of the tef. In my experience there are a lot if tricky phrases in the tef so it's good to be able to practice and develop a testing strategy. It tells you if you get it wrong but not why do you have to figure it out. It's a good supplement and you have it on your phone to use while waiting in a line or whatever
Ok. I encountered a question that was incomplete in the oral section (randonnée) and also an answer that was wrong. (Something like: Zut! Le beurre a fondu)
Unfortunately this app seems to conflict with the official manual for the exam marking system for the e-TEF. The app will only 'give' you a mark if you get BOTH parts of a question correct HOWEVER the manual states that BOTH questions carry a mark independently, which is correct?? So how you are supposed to gauge your actual progress is not clear. I emailed CCI for clarification and had no reply. I contacted my test centre and they don't know either!! Not much help! Also the listening starts IMMEDIATELY - there is no opportunity to read the question and possible answers - which you will be given in the exam - so not actually representative of the exam. AND the longer Tests are mixed, reading and listening with no indication of when the questions change so you have to be constantly ready for a change!! There is a fair amount of free content and then it is only 70p for additional practises and £1.40 for each of the longer Tests - so about £8-10 to do ALL the possible tests - pretty fair price. Such a shame the app is flawed with these problems.
The problem with it is that it doesn’t supply guidance, you should have mastered french already and only trying to assess your level.
Newbie I used to learn basic french before and now seeking for apps that could help me with the sentence structure. This is cool
