Goguma supports connecting directly to an IRC server, but shines when connecting to an IRC bouncer, that enables keeping chat history and fetching messages in the background.

This app is open source, uses standard IRC only, and is lightweight (minimal background work only when using a bouncer).

doesn't support most znc instances since they don't have SASL enabled by default; regular PASS is still not implemented

Can't be connected to znc (the bouncer). When you put in the server:port address and accept the cert error, the password field disappears. If you try and trick it by inputting the server password first, it just says "server cert invalid" with no option to ignore the error.

This is about the only client that I can find besides IRC cloud which I have an account with but I wanted to use a second one to test and then I realized none of them are for Android so I use this one and guess what it will not connect to legitimate servers with IRCNet and DalNet.
