This application presents all French professional production zones and relaying of shells and their rankings and disease status.
Health rankings are established by prefectural orders of classification, provided by the Regional Directorates of the Territories and the Sea (DDTM). They are determined on the basis of microbiological test results conducted on shellfish from the area.
Each zone is being monitored to regularly check its quality. This monitoring allows to identify any contamination of shellfish that may alter the health status of the area with specific management measures (ban or harvesting restrictions and shellfish marketing) in order to protect the health of the consumer.
