About this app

The Carte Vitale app is your Carte Vitale on your smartphone: a free digital health insurance service.

It does not replace your physical Carte Vitale but is an alternative.

TO ACTIVATE YOUR CARTE VITALE APP, YOU MUST VERIFY THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

- Be 16 or 18 years old depending on your health insurance plan,
- Have a valid form of identification,
- Have a compatible smartphone.

ONCE ACTIVATED, YOUR CARTE VITALE APP ALLOWS YOU TO:
- Identify yourself, just like with your Carte Vitale, at your pharmacy, doctor's office, dentist's office, nurse's office, optician's office, etc.,
- View your healthcare expenses incurred with your Carte Vitale app,
- Access your information and that of your beneficiaries: Social Security number, mandatory affiliated organization, as well as other information such as your National Health Identity.

Healthcare professionals are being equipped with the app gradually.

It is therefore advisable to always keep your Carte Vitale with you.

A sign is displayed at participating healthcare professionals' offices. Feel free to show them your Carte Vitale app.

SECURITY AND PROTECTION OF YOUR DATA
- The Carte Vitale app is designed to guarantee the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of your data. Data processing complies with the GDPR.

- Your identification data is stored only on your smartphone. You can delete it at any time.

- The Carte Vitale app is accessed with double security: a password to unlock your Carte Vitale app is required in addition to your smartphone's unlock password.

The Carte Vitale app is developed by GIE SESAM Vitale, which is commissioned by the national health insurance system at the request of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

Refuses to accept my Belgian ID, telling me its validity date has expired although it shows clearly a validity date through 2033....Also keeps telling me i'm not connected to the internet while i am connected. Rubbish program. Have uninstalled it.

Couldn't get past the step where they asked to record videos of my titre de séjour and my face because the camera didn't load. It either said "Weak connection" on 3 different networks I tried, or it just loaded infinitely Samsung Galaxy S22+ Android 15 One UI 7.0

EU (not French) can only register with Belgian, Spanish or Portuguese passport

- Offre un niveau de sécurité optimal en permettant de déverrouiller l’application avec un mot de passe à 10 caractères ou avec la biométrie.
