The Network of Observers of the Galician Marine Environment (Redogal) aims to be a tool for monitoring and surveillance of marine life in Galicia. The conditions of the marine environment undergo continuous changes whether natural or anthropogenic, induced by man. Living things act as bioindicators of these changes in ecosystems, so it is necessary to establish a network for monitoring and surveillance of marine life using the concept of "Citizen Science" as a tool.
Anyone anonymously or by registering can report sightings from the application., To do so, you must access "Report sighting", and fill out the available form, with the data requested. The sightings received will be reviewed by experts and, where appropriate, added to the sighting map.
In addition, there are "Species Guide" sections where you can consult some species sheets with their description and geolocated sightings of these species, news of interest related to the project, ranking where a list of people and the number of sightings will be displayed, useful information with recommendations on how to take the photographs or keep a copy, and if so, how to bring it to the expert staff. You can also receive notifications when a new sighting occurs, add a new one, and also send queries.
In the case of registered people, you will have access to the "My sightings" section, where you can view the sightings you have sent and find out their position in the ranking.
