Backfire has you take control of an exorcist on a mission to cleanse an ancient curse. Your only tool: a ship that fires from the back.

BACKFIRE IS CURSED. Install Backfire and your soul will be bound within the machine. Only total victory will release you— until then you will be damned.

Innumerous foes will block your path, ancient demons will stand against you, and death will come, again and again. Only with skill and perseverance can you purify the curse and save yourself. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

After playing for what I think was a few minutes it's a really great time killer game. The controls are very simple.The arena changes each gameplay making it harder or easier to move around. In-game currency "souls" are very plentiful and fair prices for upgrades too.I love how time slows down a little when enemies are near your ship giving quick thinking on what to do. I would kind of like to see more weapons but that's just me. Over all I give this game a 9/10 to be fair. but 5 stars overall.

this is truly the first review I've ever left onthe Play Store. First, Im super picky, especially with mobile games. I hate puzzles, dont have the patience for an rpg, can't stand anything turnbase or anything that isn't user-controlled in real time, and have a short attention span that renders most games tedious and monotonous. Backfire is the first mobile game I've played that stands up to the best gaming experiences found on console or PC. It's deep challenging and most of all FUN! 10/10

I cannot recommend this game. I have had high hopes after seeing the developer's GIFs on Reddit but I am disappointed. The movement controls are ingeniously simple but the game is so laggy that it does not feel smooth at all. I had to lower the graphics quality to medium to make the input lag bearable but even on low it seems like there are frame drops. The grab mechanic makes the game ridiculously punishing. Some enemies can grab you seconds after getting in range of your weapon. Not fun.
