The Shippers APP has come to deliver the information Shippers want on their mobile handsets and also to do away with the difficulties of commuting in bringing complaints to the offices of the Authority.
Shipping has become very competitive and every shipper is looking for ways to cut down the cost of doing business right from the manufacturer’s end through the transport logistics chain, right to the doorstep of the final consumer.
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority has been mandated by law (GSA Regulation LI2190, 2012) to protect and promote the interest of Shippers in Ghana. Therefore, the Authority looks for avenues to ensure that the Shipper in Ghana has a competitive edge by paying the right fees and charges at the ports and borders and also to bring efficiency in the clearance process.
It is in the light of the above that the Authority has developed the Shippers’ Mobile App (SMA) to bring shipping information to the handset of the shipper, so that at a click of a button, the shippers would have access to volumes of trade, port clearance process, shipping charges, contacts information of shipping service providers, vessel sailing schedules etc. The App has also been created for Shippers to lodge complains and also to rate their service providers and more.
The Authority believes that this App will go a long way in bringing the Shipper up to speed with the new trends in the shipping industry and also provide all the necessary information required to the handy of all.
