Very poor app. When traveling on the freeway, it thinks you going 60 mph on side streets. When driving an electric car, it dings you for a hard stop when using regenerative braking and never touching the brake. The speed limits loaded do not match the posted signs, so when your creating a traffic hazzard for going exactly the posted 30 or 35 limit, it will show you speeding over the 20 MPH that it thinks you should go.
It still has a hard time getting speed data correct. Cruise control set at 72 on I5 near Bellingham and suddenly it says I was going 92 for a short time at 2 different places. Speed limits on off ramps are almost all too low. They either set them to some random speed between the surface street and the freeway or if there is a yellow sign then they say that is the limit even though it is not the legal limit and only applies to a portion of the ramp anyway. Since the city of Seattle obviously wants us all to get out of our cars and onto public transit. They should be using this data to force bus drivers to be safer. Every bus trip I have taken reports multiple speed violations.
I like the idea and concept, but it doesn't record my trips and it doesn't score them. I'm hoping out gets better. 21 Dec update: after a few weeks of using it only 2 trips have been scored. The rest say waiting for network. I keep waiting for this app to get better.
The app has made me more aware of what I'm doing and how well I'm driving.
Still some glitches to work out.
Works just fine on my phone and definitely like the app.
