This is a useful, well written app. It is obvious the author spent a lot of time on the details, and it all works very well. Thank you Dierk!
Good piece of work. Only problem is if the gps signal is cut suddenly the display freezes and there is no indication that anything is wrong. It just looks like you are flying perfectly :) if you don't have gps when you select a new approach it also doesn't update the CDI or set the inbound course. Do a mod so it gives a 'nav flag' if the gps doesn't update for say 3 seconds, give an option for using baro altitude instead of gps and it will be 5 stars!
Great tool! I use this to practice precision approaches at an airport where no such facilities are installed. I have found the vertical guidance to be erratic, especially when compared to the PAPI indications on a stabilized descent. Since my mobile device lacks a barometer, it relies on GPS data for altitude info, which in turn should provide more accurate vertical guidance. That doesn't happen so I wonder what's wrong...
Great app. Great App!! I have used this in several aircraft with a WASS GPS receiver vertical and horizontal guidance as good as any certified equipment i have used to date. It has saved by bacon several times down to 150 feet dead on. Love having a ILS approach to grass runways.... Have a left over G4 that I i carry and make sure it is charged up at all times wouldn't fly without it.
Grt app the process of updating approaches should be made visible so that one is aware that the approaches are updated
Demands an e-mail address Why would I give you my e-mail address just to use this app?
