🌙 Noko & Nela – bilingual storybook
Bedtime stories in two languages: cuddle up, slow down, and let English settle in naturally.
🤍 Our promise
• Cuddle-up bedtime reading
Read together in your lap. Short, sweet stories from real life with gentle takeaways.
• Bilingual stories
The same tale in Hungarian and English: the shared experience bridges the two, so English settles in naturally.
• No unnecessary stimulation
No ads. No pop-ups. No reward tricks. Just you two and the story.
📖 Tonight’s recipe
1) Pick a tale.
2) Set the language (EN/HU).
3) Lap time, slow pace.
4) Ask 1–2 questions (“Why do you think…?”).
5) Hug, lights out.
💛 Founder story
I’m a software-engineer dad. I use English every day at an advanced level, yet sometimes a tense or a word still trips me up. It reminds me how different the natural ease that early childhood gives to language is from what we learn later as students or adults.
When my children were born, I decided to make the most of the first six-year golden window, when languages can settle at a native-like level. We read in my lap; next to the Hungarian text I write English lines, and we read the same story alternately in Hungarian and English. This is still how we end our day. I can see how words, tied to the shared reading experience, quietly and effortlessly settle in.
From this warm evening routine the idea of Noko & Nela was born, and this is why I keep building it—we use it every day. We’re creating a calm, cuddle-up screen-storybook with no ads, no pop-ups, no reward tricks. The screen stays in the parent’s hands, and the focus stays on each other. I hope more and more families will end their day this way: a hug, a lovely story, and one new English word that finds a place next to the heart. 🌙
