Purchase Hungary Pass, county passes, train and bus tickets, and plan your domestic or international journeys quickly and easily on a single interface!
The MÁVPlusz app is constantly evolving: it is being expanded with new features month by month to reach its full functionality during 2026.
Key features and products currently available:
• Train and Bus Tickets: Tickets for MÁV, VOLÁN, HÉV, GYSEV, and other European railway companies with a renewed, lightning-fast purchase process.
• Passes and Daily Tickets: Hungary Pass, county passes, Hungary24 and County24 daily tickets. Please note that Hungary and county passes are also valid on certain local transport services (e.g., within Budapest); for more details, visit orszagberlet.hu.
• Local Transport: City daily tickets and passes in more than 60 cities across the country (e.g., BKK / Budapest Pass) – available under the "Passes" menu.
• International Travel: International ticket purchasing is arriving, allowing you to plan journeys and even buy tickets beyond borders directly in the app.
• Other Tickets: TramTrain, Children's Railway, tourist tickets (e.g., HÉV and Lake Balaton), and combined admission tickets – available under the "Passes" menu.
• Intelligent Route Planning: Door-to-door planning using any regional or local transport services.
• Modern Payment: Secure and fast transactions with qvik, Google Pay, and Apple Pay support.

The app takes 3 minutes to load. If you switch screens, it takes another 2 minutes to load. If you buy a ticket, the app resets and gives a 401 web page error. The ticket is purchased but it does not load in the app. You have to switch back to the old app to have your ticket cached locally. Not everyone has Mobile Internet, I can only assume they think everyone does. The latest update is worse. Some of the problem is the Android OS.

If the app is still a beta version and the full experience isn't fix until 2026 then why force us to delete the old app and switch to this one? The money that went into the marketing could've gone to the development. It crashes constantly (especially when payment), always gives errors, doesn't load, 404, the routes it gives are all over the place, the tickets are hard to read in when boarding the bus and make the whole ordeal awkward. Should've stick to the old app until this was done

The app displays old, expired tickets and passes in the "Valid" section, whereas there is nothing under the "Expired" category. Because the actual valid ones are automatically placed at the bottom, finding them becomes a nuisance, especially when you have a lot of expired tickets. This has been an ongoing issue for quite a while now. Please fix it.
