The village of Lahang Hulu was originally started by several rulers at that time. Namely HABIBI MUHAMAD from the INDRAGIRI kingdom and the name KAROMO who came from JAVA ISLAND.
From the first, this person received permission to clear agricultural land from settlements by one named H. ELYAS who came from SOUTH KALIMANTAN with 3 (three) cousins to go to the echo of the serka's son, right at H. IDRIS's field which was heading to ditch 09 (nine) TembILAHAN dna H. In 1863 H.ELYAS first arrived at the destination to open agricultural land, before being named LAHANG HULU. The original name was TASIK HULU PIYAI after several years, while the main crop planted was rice, several periods of the growing season the yields increased, so to market agricultural products, trade relations occurred at that time with traders from China, according to sources quoted from the story of old people who are still living on agricultural land that was once opened to the left ketaman intersection, which was named sakalahan. Until now the name is still known to the public.
