BHIM AADHAAR - Union Bank application, with Aadhaar Pay service, for merchants would encourage the use of digital Payments for performing purchase transactions at merchant establishments without the need of MicroATM/PoS terminal by using customer’s biometric and Aadhaar number. This will help India becoming a cashless economy.
The Aadhaar payment would also be helpful for customers to get rid of their stacks of plastic money and multiple passwords. Also, the customers need not download a digital payment wallet or even need a smartphone.
The bank account holders With Aadhaar Seeded, does not require having any debit or credit card or even a mobile Phone.
a. BHIM Aadhaar – Union Bank app will allow the customer to perform a purchase transaction using his/her Aadhaar number and Biometric (Fingerprint).
b. The transaction will be interoperable as well as ONUS in nature allowing any bank customer to transact through BHIM Aadhaar Union Bank app.
c. The BHIM Aadhaar – Union Bank app will allow merchants to accept the Aadhaar of the customer as a payment instrument and the use of Biometric authentication for the purchase of goods and services.
How to Use the Application:
a. After downloading the application from playstore and installing on merchant’s smartphone, the merchant would require to sign up with his/her personal and business details. After successful registration the merchant has to approach his/her Union Bank branch with necessary documents to get his/her details approved and get fingerprint device.
b. The merchant has to login to his/her account using biometric authentication.
c. A customer would make a Purchase transaction through the Merchant Payment App operated by the Merchant using his/her biometric and aadhaar number.
d. On successful Aadhaar Authentication, the bank will debit the customer’s Aadhaar enabled bank account and send its positive response to the Merchant Payment App.
e. Only after receipt of a success response, the goods / services shall be handed over to the customer.
