About this app

BlueWallet is a self-custody Bitcoin wallet for Android. Your keys stay on your device. We never hold them.

Send, receive, and store bitcoin. Make as many wallets as you want, or import the one you already have. We are open source and MIT licensed. You can read the code and build it yourself.

Lock the app with a password. Plausible deniability gives you a decoy wallet if someone forces you to open it.

Watch-only wallets keep an eye on cold storage without putting keys on the phone. Multisig vaults split keys across devices. Hardware wallets talk to us over PSBT.

You choose the fee. Speed up or cancel a send with RBF. Coin control when you want a say in which coins move.

Not a good experience so far. Bitcoin lightning is nowhere near ready for prime-time use. I thought the whole reason for lightning was for fast transactions. When I made a purchase from my lightning wallet it just showed payment in transition for over 72hrs. Edit: The sats ended up coming back to my wallet on day 4. Moving to a different wallet. I don't recommend this one. Edit: BlueWallet development has come a long way. It's getting better and better.

Hi Jerrold, sorry about your experience. Totally true, lightning is far from being ready for prime-time and it does fails some times, or a lot of times... Please send an email, so we can look at your problem. bluewallet@bluewallet.io

After I sent my first deposit, which I assumed would not incur a transaction fee by the receiver (Blue Wallet), a monstrous fee was displayed. Of course I could not write a favourable review! After the transaction finalized, there was no fee deducted. Confused. Anyway, updated to 4 stars with fingers crossed concerning the Lightning Network.

Hi there. The fees onchain are defined by the users. On Lightning which is still an experimental feature, the fees are defined between 0.3% and 1% which is relatively low compared to what the nodes on the network are charging, at the moment up to 5%. Thank you

BlueWallet is really great and probably the best hot wallet you can get from a functionality perspective with HWWs. I've been using it as my sole watch-only wallet for years now. My previous issue a few years ago with one of the updates was sorted out with the following update. Really good. Would recommend to everyone.
