It's no longer seeing my lock. I contacted them almost a month ago, they said a new version to fix that would be live soon. Haven't heard back though....
It's pretty much a crapshoot whether this thing is going to work from one minute to the next. Sometimes it seems my lock, but most times it doesn't. I often have to close and reopen the app, or get to the main menu and use the clumsy UI to manually try to connect to the lock. When it does connect, it takes forever. I spend 10 minutes just trying to lock or unlock my bike most of the time. It's absolutely absurd. Particularly for $200 lock! I really hope they put some work into this user experience because it's absolutely awful right now. This app would be a prime candidate for Android Wear integration, too -- but of course there's none of that.
I constantly loose connection with the lock, even if I'm right next to it. Everytime the connection is lost or reestablished it alerts me despite shutting down all notifications on the app. So basically my phone beeps at me all day and I can't stop it. Also having to reestablish a connection to the lock requires far more time than simply using a key. Saving time was my primary reason for getting this system, so it was basically a waste of money. Also, the battery on the looses power quickly and the solar charging doesn't seem to always work. The manual directional key touch sensitivity seems to jam up and slow down, which makes me wary of the back up system to unlock it. Lots of good ideas here, but none of it seems to work in practice.
It takes ages to (re) connect. Locking/unlocking takes time, so you better not be in a hurry! Sometimes it won't detected the lock even when it's next to it.
This app asked to access my phone's location. After I denied access, the app crashed.
Needs work. Buggy as it stands.
