Review from Dark Knight
Would be nice if it supported Lyft too. If it does, can you place a tutorial for it.
December 25, 2017Hi! RYDAR works for Uber driver-partners, as it’s based on the official API from Uber. So far, it doesn’t support Lyft, but we’re thinking about how we can provide similar services to Lyft drivers.
Since the last Uber driver update, Rydar hasn't worked for me. Before that, I had problems with Rydar closing itself in the background while my phone screen was off, making it so I had to check Uber and Rydar a lot to make sure Rydar was running and I wasn't missing surges on Uber. At this point, it seems worthless until fixed. When it does work, it is nice. Galaxy S8+
I think people are judging this app a little too harshly. Rydar has a lot of potential and it's the only one of it's kind right now. True it isn't perfect, but they are a new developer so we should cut them some slack for the effort they do. This app will only get better. I'm in no way associated with this developer.
It is 10am in Chicago and there are no suggestions/hot spots anywhere in a 30 mile radius! It finds waypoints only when Uber is so busy that you will get pinged before you get to the waypoint. I have removed the app.
Do not use this app! I linked my Uber account to this app and now I can't go online with Uber. It's my only source of income right now and I can't afford to miss any more work. I'm furious at this horrible app for putting me out of work
Lot of pro and cons.. big problem comparatively speaking, this app fails to give true deductions and expenses. Every 1099 employee needs to know what all CPA and MBA know. You can deduct every single expense and mile driven from the minute you leave your house till you come home the 1st - 35 miles. Moreover and more importantly the app doesn't track the distance to a pickup and from a pickup to the next pickup which under IRS rules is fully deductible. In other words the expense tracker here is fake and going to hurt you in the IRS or over your over cost of doing business you'll never understand the true cost of profitability per hour meaning hourly wage for mo net net net net. In other words the true hourly wage net after all expenses is closer to less than minimum wage 90% of hours. This why most drivers quite after a month or so of driving. The true facts and math are simple most drivers drive 5000 miles a month most drivers gross$5,000 a month after expenses net$2,500 for working 300 ton400 hours month.. proving most net less than minimum wage.
Does nothing it claims. Since the app manufacturers response suggests I am using it wrong ( it's never an app makers fault it's always user error) I will clarify exactly what I meant when I said it does nothing it claims. It actually does the exact opposite of what it claims. It suggests that you leave Uber application off and drive to where it says there is a surge. While doing that today the app repeatedly tried to direct me to lower areas of surge further away than the one it initially directed me to and when I opened the Uber app I realized it was taking me on a route through an area with higher surges than the one that it directed me to initially. But wait it gets better. I connected my Uber account to the app so presumably the app knows when I'm on the way to pick up someone for Uber or taking someone on their trip. But guess what - it doesn't. What it does is gets really quiet when I don't have a ride - it doesn't make any recommendations. Then when I accept a ride from Uber the little alert starts playing Jingle Bells telling him about all the great suggestions of where I should be going instead of to pick up my passenger. And when I look at those suggestions they keep getting further and further and further away. So the app claims it will prevent you from driving around and wasting gas looking for a ride when in fact it encouraged me to drive 10 to 15 miles away in the hope that the surge it detected will still be there - but it only makes these useless recommendations when you already have a ride - so they're completely useless to you unless you choose to cancel the ride you are on. Pretty sure they asked for an email address when I signed up but their suggestion was email us and we'll teach you how to use the app LOL Well there's my critique of the app I'm all ears - heck I'll even send you an email so you can explain to me what I'm doing wrong. And if the app ever works as it claims to I'll be happy to come back and modify this review.
