Used to work but now doesn't. Can't even play my boosts it says to delete them which can't be done through the app or even by uninstallting the app...

Cool when it worked but unfortunately only worked for about a month. Now it's fully charged and connected, but the sync icon does nothing more than spin and drain phone battery. Notifications don't work and no data is being collected.

The Spire is a good tool, however, I have to reinstall the app ever single time I charge my device. It's a ridiculous pain in the butt. Especially for how expensive it is.

Let me start by saying I only purchased my Spire Calm tracker and app this week. Before purchasing it I did a bit of research on line. This was reviews here, You Tube and general internet browsing. I must admit I was surprised by the amount of variation in the reviews. Anyhow I took the plunge given the money back guarantee. As a meditator of over 20 years and a person who has been plagued with one 18 hour headache per week for the last 5 years this little gift I bought myself may be just the diamond I have needed. It is very early days but this device is doing what it says it does. It simply provides the wearer an opportunity to monitor their breath patterns real time with configurable alerts. It also stores the data for detailed reflection. So far it is reliable, accurate and easy to use. The material and support offered by Spire has been good. When I say support I have posed some questions to them and they have promptly replied and they are keen for any suggestions. This is not a paid review. I was concerned that some of the You Tube reviews may have been because they were quite glowing. Now I know why. If you are looking for something like this go for it. I have loved my Fitbit Charge HR for various reasons. They offer different things but if I could only keep one device this would be it. Take Care Be Well Gordon PS I was getting a headache this week and through the tense alerts I was able to calm my way out of it before it took hold. I hope this little device can break my 5 year headache cycle. Up to now everything else has not succeeded including a 28 day silent meditation retreat and every Eastern and Western modality.

Check your phone settings for "Backup & reset" > "Automatic restore" and turn the option off. Then when you uninstall the app and reinstall it, the boosts will get deleted. This option is the cause for the boost files getting corrupt because the phone restores settings and data to a previous version of the app, overwriting the updates. Cool when it worked but unfortunately only worked for about a month. Now it's fully charged and connected, but the sync icon does nothing more than spin and drain phone battery. Have you contacted customer support or sent a diagnostic report? You might just need to uninstall the app and reinstall it. If you contact support or send a diagnostic report, we can be more specific on what to do. There were a couple of crashes that have been fixed in the last couple days so definitely make sure you have the latest version. The Spire is a good tool, however, I have to reinstall the app ever single time I charge my device. It's a ridiculous pain in the butt. Especially for how expensive it is.

Most of the time you just need to toggle Bluetooth off and on to get the device to reconnect. There are a number of steps we have to get the device to reconnect if it's having trouble reconnecting. If you email customer support, they can give you all the steps. The last resort should be unpairing and reconnecting in device settings in the app. Let me start by saying I only purchased my Spire Calm tracker and app this week. I received my Spire in mid-Dec 2016 & have had innumerable problems with it - until recently. The updates are finally working properly, allowing my device to do likewise. It's finally tracking my breathing patterns and activity as it should be, and I am able to thoroughly enjoy the programme for a change. To the Spire team: Keep it up, guys; all of your hard work is paying off! 😃

The thing is really unreliable. Works in spurts. Tech support consists of blaming the phone with instructions that do not work. Emails from tech support are rude and demaning. Even the owner unable to figure out how to get the thing to work. Admits there are numerous bugs with many users frustrated. Wonderful idea that needs work to function as advertised. Save your money. Wait to purchase.
Previous issues with connectivity between the app and the Spire device have been resolved in recent builds of the app. I don't care about looking at the activity data collected by the Spire, but I love the fact that the stone can vibrate to alert me when I am tense and may not realize it. There is still a lot of room for optimization in making the vibrations for different states more distinct and when they are repeated in relatively short succession, but the general app and Spire interaction seems to be functioning well.

The connection seems to be much more stable with latest version. We've had some issues with some of the libraries we were using. We have another update coming up that fixes some of the lingering bluetooth. Check out the latest version and update your review with what you think. First of all a number of the five star reviews are obviously spam, so the 3.4 rating is not an accurate representation of users feedback. I have had this device for approximately six weeks, however the app hasn't worked in all that time. Each update resolves one issue but creates new issues. I have been tracking my breaking for 42 minutes, 24 have been tense and 6 have been focused. All I have been doing is reading through the reviews and becoming more frustrated that I didn't check the app before buying device. I can no longer return the device for a refund so have written off the cost as an expensive mistake. I am more tense when I am trying to use this device than when it is not connected.
I love the concept. The app has been getting better in performance, yet it still is buggy. For example, I'm missing data for all of January and part of February even though I wore it during that time.
Great app. Latest update is awesome. Connected non stop. The app has so much value I will always be a customer no matter what. This app keeps getting better and better.
After over 2 months of connection issues, I'm trying 1 last time . Android app isn't 100% yet. I'll update in 2 days.... Usually it stops working after 2 days.

Nice when it works, unfortunately that's not very often.
Still 3 stars because in still having issues with the device syncing and even staying connected many times. I have worn it but there is no data yet in being told it's full, sms I need to sync it. Despite all of that, it has some wonderful features that I enjoy. The audio tracks and breathing "dots" are very helpful in helping me to focus and unwind. I even play the audio clip to help me fall asleep. So, while the syncing issue is VERY irritating... it's not enough for me to hate it. Hoping that it's user error and not a device issue.
Even though I have worn the device all day, for several days now, when it syncs it shows only 1-3 hours of info. Sent back the spire today and uninstalling the app. Good idea, poorly executed.
I think the latest update has resolved the bluetooth connection issue. Such a relief. Edit: its 5 days and did not face a single connectivity issue. Giving 5 stars now.

Last update won't sync.. Edited to add - it unpairs several times a week and then can't discover itself until I uninstall the app and reinstall it. Truly cool but frustrating device.
New update has some cool features but now frequently loses connect to device and isn't tracking or syncing. No Force sync choice if ive been away from phine. Now app is freezing up, can submit diagnostic report.

The app freezing and not being able to submit a diagnostic report was from the bug reporting library we were using. It's been removed and replaced with our own diagnostic report. The connectivity is better with the latest update, and the update coming soon will fix some lingering issues. Post latest update frequent disconnects followed by inability to find the device. Very unpredictable at the moment. Problem only with Android version.
Terrible. Disconnects all the time. Doesn't track well. Waste of energy ultimately.
Will not link with my stone for weeks on end. When they finally make updates and it does link it is sporadic throughout the day. Wasted way too much money on the spire stone that is not usable 98% of the time. Don't waste your money.
Multiple times a day my stone will disconnect from the app. I of course don't see this until later in the day and all of my steps/breathing stats are never logged. I've reached out to customer support and after I sent them what they asked me to send, never heard back. Very disappointed! The updates are not fixing anything!

You should be hearing back from customer support soon. The latest update should has some connection improvements, but some disconnects are natural. Our tests are showing that the app/phones are performing wonderfully. See our G+ page for test harness for testing the devices/phones. U can post suggestions & problems too and I'll respond right away. The latest update fixed my issue. Good stuff! When it works, it's great, but since the new UI update, notifications are now inconsistent. It's a pity because this is a great device.
Can't keep a connection. It's either adding magic to my stone (while the app just spins) or it's disconnected. Not ready for primetime. Need to test it before taking everyone's $$.

We have been having trouble with connection issues with certain phone. Our latest update release two days ago should have many improvements. Check out our G+ page to see how we're doing some of the testing, announcements on fixes, and/or work arounds and tricks and tips for fixing issues. You can leave suggestions and complaints that mgmt will see. This is in beta at best - Even with the app update. When it works it is awesome. It only works about 15% of the time though. Doesn't do me any good to find out an hour later when I manually look at the app that I had multiple stress moments and it didn't alert me. It disconnects multiple times a day and I have to unpair, turn off bluetooth, turn back on and then scan a few times. I really had high hopes for this but it's just too buggy. Maybe a year from now they can fix their code.
The premise is awesome....the fact that it seldom works and often disconnects itself, not so much. I feel like it worked better than ever at the end of last week, then the update happened and it's back to normal :(

Please try our latest update 1.2.2_210. The connection/reconnection looks great from our tests. We're focused 100% on getting the connection robust as possible across all different phones and versions. Check out and post our G+ page issues or suggestions. Send a diagnostic report if you have problems...we always try to respond to posts and reports. Was loving the app but in the last few days I have had to unpair and reconnect. As of this afternoon it will not reconnect. I see that I am not the only one. I hope this is rectified soon.

The current implementation keeps turning on the phone display for every notification, even if you have chosen not to display these alerts on the locked screen. Finally, had to turn off notifications completely. Would love an "Only vibrate Spire" option that sends alerts to the Spire without generating notifications on the phone. Btw, I am on a Samsung S7 Edge running Nougat.

I've been thinking about doing the vibrate only notification. I'm surprised the notifications are defying your phone settings. I'll look into it. Thanks for the feedback. I'll update this reply when the vibrate only option is available. I received my Spire yesterday. I have tried multiple times to set it up. I receive an error and am booted off when I'm setting up my weight, height, birthdate. And yes, I've installed the app several times. No luck.

Check your phone settings for 'Backup & reset' > 'Automatic restore' and make sure it's turned off. Then uninstall and reinstall the app and the app should work after that. Lots of connection issues. More that half the days I've worn it there is no vibration and no data. I always have my phone and my bluetooth is on. I am NOT happy at all.

We're working on the connection issues. If you upgrade to the latest version, there is some changes that should help with the connection, and we have another release coming soon that will help even more. We've been focusing on improving the connection for the past week. Don't care for the new app, released on February 14, 2016. The screens are cluttered and the interface is just plain messy. No easy way to tell if the Spire is synching properly (or at all). Synch seems to be indicated by a teensy rotating arrow on one of the screens, but I'm only guessing about that as the arrow is not labeled. App is buggy. Caused excessive heat in my phone, apparently when updating from previous version. Caused several malfunctions in touch screen with other apps, including the phone itself. Problems got so bad I thought my phone had gone around the bend and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Verizon tech support. Overheating and other problems eventually cleared up and the new app didn't cause any other difficulty, but the design flaws are legion and frustrating. App and Spire don't seem to play well together. Synch is delayed for hours. With the new version, Spire fixed something that wasn't broken--and now IS broken.

We have a newer release available now. There have been a number of bug fixes in the current release. We have another update coming out soon that will help fix some of the connection issues people are seeing. I doubt our app caused touch screen issues or overheating; we use less battery in that release. We'll revisit the syncing notification. The new upgrades are awful. It will not stay connected with my phone. I liked the drop down. You could see how many steps you walked. Please improve this.

What drop down are you referring to? You can still see how many steps you've walked in the day in the stats screen. We'll be releasing another update later this week with a firmware update that should help connection issues people are seeing.
