Nice game I really like this game. At the grandmaster level it 'seems' that it gets the best roll and I get the worst at times. A couple of suggestions. Keep stats at a match level, allow undue move as far back as desired to replay the same game differentiy. Finally sometimes the first bear off is not allowed unless you save and restart.
Game rigged After playing many times it became evident that game is rigged.
Dice lack credibility in higher levels Dice throws are amazingly better for the cpu compared to gnu backgammon on other platforms. Gnu might be slightly embarrassed by this port but they were the reason I installed this app. Otherwise it has a very good user interface and is a worthy and aggressive player in the gnu spirit. Sometimes I have to close and restart the app multiple times before I get games where I get more than one or two throws in higher levels.
Not Right As others have noted when playing this game at higher levels the Ai has a statistically unlikely ability to throw the exact dice it needs to win a losing game. Try playing at the lower levels and this happens much less. I have read the developers response that states this is the natural outcome of the strategy employed at the higher levels. Bollocks. A 1/18 chance throw should happen once in eighteen times otherwise its rigged.
Good game but some issues A good game with better play than the previous backgammon game I used. Disappointed to discover that that I am unable to select more than a 1 point match in multi player mode, e.g. Tigergammon. Also been hit by the bug which doesn't always allow legal moves when bearing off. Saving the game and restarting has not resolved this for me
Dice still not random Too many instances when the dice required by the cpu magically appear to win the match. Not as good as gnu on windows despite similar random number generation. Shame really. Could you please explain why the cpu always draws the highest dice total per game 98% of the time?
