About this app

The first real App dedicated to Italian numismatics, indispensable for both professionals and collectors, published by Gigante, a historic company that has been operating in the numismatic market since 1967.
The Giant Catalog App represents the digital version of the famous and homonymous numismatic Catalog, the first edition of which dates back to 1992, a true best seller of the collection of Italian coins.
The Catalog is complete with the images of the coins with their enlargements, their detailed descriptions, the variations of minting, rarities, studies and, only for owners of the Giant Paper Catalog "Italian Coins from the 700 to the Euro" (for twelve months after activation), the valuations of the coins in the various conservation states and the respective market data. In this version of the Digital Catalog the coins of the Kingdom of Sardinia, Kingdom of Italy, RSI, Colonia Eritrea, Italian Somalia, Kingdom of Albania, the coin tokens of the Exhibition Fairs and the tokens of the Red Cross are available.
The Giant Catalog App guarantees the best numismatic information: in fact, the paper Giant Catalog, from which it derives, is the reference of contemporary Italian numismatics and, by far, the best-selling numismatic publication ever in Italy.
With this App, the Giant Catalog is no longer just a paper publication, but becomes, for the completed chapters, the first numismatic "Publishing System" available today. In fact, the "new" Giant Catalog is made up of the interaction of three products, each independent of the other, such as: the paper work, the digital work by means of the App and the corresponding encyclopedic work, published on the Numispedia portal , to which the App is integrated. Today, the Giant Catalog, exploiting simultaneously both traditional and digital publishing (real time and mobile), is at the top of numismatic communication and constitutes, as a whole, the reference work of the coins included in the Catalog App and in the Numispedia portal. Therefore, the contents interested in this epochal turning point of numismatic publishing have been elaborated with the most stringent scientific criteria and the copious bibliography, both for reference and comparison, has been appropriately inserted in the cataloging cards of the single coins present on Numispedia.
