Use the screen of your Smartphone to simulate the active surface of the photovoltaic glass, and just place it in the same position that your installation would be. The results will change depending on inclination and rotation of the device. Try it out and compare results for different design purposes.

From the entered data, the application calculates the average normalized rate of consumption per hour, day, week, or month (bewteen two readings) and draws a graph showing the consumption rate over time. The total amount of actually used energy during each day, week, month, or quarter is displayed as a bar graph or table. If the average cost per unit is provided, the graphs can also show the amount of money instead of energy.
Meter exchange or reset is detected automatically and consumption data is recorded seamlessly across the reset.
Pinch zoom can be used on the trend and bar graph pages. In landscape orientation, comments are displayed in the list view.
Indirect metering is supoorted. In this case, the meter value is multiplied with a certain factor to convert it to the final energy value. Two separate unit texts can be entered, one for the meter and one for the actual energy value.
Meters can be marked to count backwards, which can happen with prepaid meters, showing the amount of remaining prepaid energy instead of used energy.
Virtual meters can be used to display the sum of individual meters and do simple unit conversion, for example from m3 to kWh. Please note that you should read your physical meters which are part of a virtual meter all around the same time for best results.
Meter data can be imported from and exported to CSV files from the context menu of each meter (long-press on the meter entry). Meters can also be edited and deleted via this context menu.
In addition to meter readings, sensor data like temperature or wind speed can be recorded. At the moment, this data is shown separately, but may be shown in combination with meter data in future releases.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The trend graph does NOT show total amount of energy used. The bar graph is used for this information. The trend graph shows usage values normalized to a certain time period (hour/day/week/month or year). If your meter records a usage of 10kWh within one hour (10kW power), the trend will show a usage rate of 240kWh per day for that measurement point (10kWh/h = 10kW power rating, normalized to one day -> 10kW * 24h = 240kWh). This is by design.

Several different PV plants can be monitored by the Solar-Log™ and visualized with this App. As result, already installed PV plants with their current data provide an interesting insight to the performance capabilities of modern plants.
The App saves all of the data in an internal cache so that once loaded it can also be displayed yields when no internet connection is available. The Slide Show mode makes it possible to display the plant continuously. So at a glance, you quickly see what the plant's current power output is. Additionally a small widget provides a direct overview for the yields at the homescreen.
Supported plants include any that are accessible via the internet website Solar-Log™ WEB "Commercial Edition" as well as Solar-Log™ WEB "Classic 2nd Edition".

The position of a PV panel affects its power generation. Thus, the panels should be positioned optimally for maximum efficiency.
THIS TOOL uses GPS to determine your location and the time of the day, than calculate the azimuth and the elevation of the sun. Having the sun's position calculated, your smartphone will guide you and show you how to position your panel for optimal solar energy generation.
3 operational modes available:
★ Now - The best position of the panel at the current time.
★ Year - The best position of the panel through the whole year.
★ Custom - You may choose the period for optimal power generation.
For best result, place your smartphone in a vertical position on your solar cell surface. The arrows pointing left and right indicate the pan rotation, while the up and down arrows suggest the tilt rotation. Note that the color of the arrows will change from red to green as you get closer to the desired location. We suggest to make gentle movements while the arrows are green until they disappear. When the light bulb turns on, you're on the spot! Now you can remove your smartphone from the panel, and get the most of your solar panel.

Most electical meters today have a diode that transmits pulses in step with consumption. The diode is marked like "1000 imp / kWh". Put the phone's camera to the diode and measure consumption. The diode probably transmits in infrared so it will not be visible to human eyes, however the camera on the phone will see it.

The data contained in the app comes from either NASA or PVGIS (European Union), depending on your chosen location. PVGIS info is retrieved from this site: http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvgis/
If the data you requested has a location somewhere in Europe or Africa, then the data will come from PVGIS, and if the coordinates correspond to somewhere else on the planet, the data will come from NASA.
