MINT stands for mathematics, informatics, natural sciences and technology. In the English speaking world the common acronym is STEM referring to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Education in MINT subjects and the improvement of the scientific education of the population are the basis for the sustainable innovative capacity of a society. Thus, it has become an indispensable part of the educational system at all levels.
The MINT initiative has set itself the objective of sensitising students and the population for the above mentioned scientific fields and arousing and increasing interest in a scientific culture in general.
