Saved our ass many times The app works great. No need to plan your day. Just open it up when your ready to stop traveling. Dial it does work of line. Its still based on online maps. So you can see you. You can see the camps. You can't see the map. Or look up the camp for more info. Off line map would be great. Still you get enough info for the GPS and go. Limited in some Easter Europe countries. Spot on in western.
Excellent app for finding campsites, but also great for navigating while driving and walking. Saved us getting lost on Spanish footpaths. Five stars til it stopped working on my Lenovo Yoga tablet.
Good app but room for improvement I was searching for an alternative camping app like wikicamps and found this one its really basic but shows a lot of campsites around Europe even in offline mode. I'd wish that this app becomes more like wikicamps for example that all users can add campsites, rate them and give comments. Also places of interest and attractions would make the travelling a lot easier. I loved this about wikicamps and wish to have it in europe as well. Cheers!
Problem on Flyme OS5 Hi Archie. App won't run on my meizu mx4 pro. Might an older version? Please help, desperately need the guide.
I have bought this based on reviews. I have to admit I was rather disappointed from minute one. I have searched the campings we have stayed in during a recent trip to Provence, Southern France. Well, surprise, NONE of them was in Archie's database! Well I could add them manually, but that's not what I expected, based on all the hype. I also find that the details for these campings are fairly minimalist. I would have liked an indication of their price range an facilities. Besides, I find that Archie is biased towards campers and camping cars, ignoring us people still using a tent. A second bias: not too many mountain campings on this list. UPDATE: Four months later, after the addition of many POIs, my campings are still not on Archie's list! And we're speaking of large, well established campings.
I'm amazed at how many campsites easily came up and all over the UK. Luckily the links have telephone numbers, otherwise it's many more clicks and Google searches trying to find more information and often Google can't find the actual campsite.. This is very time consuming and in some cases fustrating.. Plus I had no idea what the different color symbols meant, so had to check the website.. I found a place, then click all around the Internet looking for more information... Only to see the place I was looking at has no bathroom or electricity.. Just a field.. And wasn't even that cheap.. Other apps give far more information..e.g. All the symbols for its available amenities. I'll definitely use the app, but before I cycle all day, I'll have to call loads of places each trip to get the information... Rather than just pick one that suits my needs best, book it and go.. But 5 stars for the amount of campsites.. 3 stars as it's an app in process I imagine.. Thanks .Dan
