Complex calculation software can be difficult to understand and use. aPsychroAC is intentionally designed not to be complex, but rather simple, practical, easy to understand and use. The main objective of engineering this software is to help HVAC designers in providing quick design solutions for the following air-conditioning design applications:
- Summer conditions (not for Winter conditions)
- Cooling & dehumidification process (not for system with humidifier, etc).
OA inputs accept Conditioned Air (CA) conditions such as treated outdoor air from Precool Coil / Precool Air Unit (PAU), Heat Recovery Wheel (HRW), Run-Around Coil (RAC), Heat Pipe (HP), etc.
PAU, HRW, RAC and HP calculations are included as separate modules with "Export CA" feature. The calculated SA (CA) conditions can be fed (exported) to the main AHU module as precooled (treated) outdoor air. You can recall back the PAU, HRW, RAC or HP module with its current activity's state retained.

Calculations are made using The American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Fundamentals 2009 ideal gas equations.
You must hit the clear button in between calculations. If more than three properties are filled in the application will default to using wet bulb as the humidity input.
The Air Quality data sources varies depending on the cities:
- The US Embassy PM2.5 data is used for Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
- The China Ministry Environment Pollution Departement PM10 data is used for all other cities in China.
- For Hong Kong and Taiwan, the respective Environment agencies PM2.5 data is used.
- For Singapore, the Singapore National Environment Agency PM2.5 data is used.
- For the other countries, please refer to our website (aqicn.org)
The overall AQI, PM2.5 and PM10 measurements are updated every hour.
In order to install the widget, you need to insert it on the homescreen:
- If you are using Android 4.0 (Ice Cream sandwich), select the "All Apps" icon (usually on the top-right corner), then the widget tab, and click on the "Beijing Air" widget.
- If you are using any other version below 4.0, you need to long-press in an empty area on the default home screen and select "Widgets", and then "Beijing Air".

LAB-EL HUMIDITY CALCULATOR computer program calculates uncertainty results. These are taken from uncertainty of input data (introduced by the user through the input window) and the uncertainty of formula used for moisture calculation.
The results are true with respect to over water or to over ice, depending on whether there is water or frost (ice) in the chilled mirror hygrometer or psychrometer.
The input and counted data values are as follow:
DP - dew point temperature,
FP - frost point temperature,
RH - relative humidity with respect to water (or to ice),
T - air temperature,
Tw/Ti - the wet-bulb (or ice-bulb) temperature in psychrometer,
P1 - air pressure at point 1, where input values are defined,
P2 - air pressure at point 2, where values are calculated,
PPMV - volume of water vapour in dry air (ppm, parts per million),
PPMW - mixing ratio, weight of water vapour in dry air (ppm, parts per million),
x - mixing ratio, weight of water vapour in dry air (g/kg),
I - enthalpy I(1+x) of mixture dry air (1) and water vapour (x),
WVP - vapour pressure in moist air,
SWVP - saturation vapour pressure of moist air with respect to water (or to ice).
This app is available for Android and Apple-iOS, and is designed for comfortable use. The calculations of the thermodynamic properties are based on the Industrial Formulation IAPWS-IF97 and cover its full range of validity. In addition, transport properties, thermodynamic derivatives, and backward functions can be calculated.

If the user switches from one input variable combination to another the previously given or calculated values will be assigned to the new input values and the output is being calculated automatically. For example, if the user calculates a certain state point from pressure p and temperature t and switches to a calculation from pressure p and specific entropy s afterwards, the previously calculated value for s (from p and t) will be assigned as input value for s. This eases the calculation of thermodynamic processes in which one property is kept constant, e. g. of an isentropic expansion.
The user can choose SI or I-P unit systems. In addition a variety of other units are available,
