What you'd expect The controls cover a lot of the screen and it sometimes crashes after a dungeon. I'd prefer NetHack, but this certainly works.
Fantastic or would be Unfortunately I just upgraded from a Galaxy Tab 2 to a Galaxy Tab S2 and it no longer works :-( Really great to play this game once more. Faithful reproduction of the original. UI could have been better thought out and with better/more short cuts. I also miss the ability to name scrolls/potions if there effect isn't obvious and the ability to list what the know about scrolls/potions.
A poor but just about functionable adaptation I wanted to be able to play Rogue on my phone and while this app does make that possible, it doesn't make it particularly easy or enjoyable. The simple ability to hold a 'key' down so as to keep moving in one direction or keep resting until you let go would make the game far far more playable. One of the other major shortcomings is the uncustomisable control overlay - if not adjustable size then surely at least adjustable colour and transparency, that's a standard option that could easily have been implemented. The lack of on screen shortcuts is also a drag, you have to go into a menu to access even the inventory from which all else is accessed - shortcuts such as 'throw' would save a lot of screen taps. Basically this port is the bare minimum; I appreciate it having been made but just a little bit more effort would have gone a long long way.
Crashed every time The app crashed every time I clicked on "enter the dungeon". I even tried rebooting my phone, but that didn't help. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S5. I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but if I can't even get to play the game due to crashing issues, it's worth warning others.
Highly enjoyable but... A better help screen or a proper tutorial for people new to the game would be nice. But what really bugs me is the lack of rebindable keys (for physical keys) and customizable virtual dpads for tablet users.
interesting plays similar to the original which i've had since the 80's (still works on win7 using DOSBOX btw) but the room graphics could at least use the ASCII graphics properly...

Travel deep into the mountain to seek your revenge and slay the evil Goblin King
If a Roguelike and a Runner had a baby, that baby might play this game.
