Tried this with EOS-M2 and Droid Mini. Set up is fairly easy. Works great at a good distance without line of site. Canon Camera Connect does not work with eosm2. Just hit OK when you see the message that tells you to use CCC. Not many controls, but the app actually works! That's why I squeaked out 5 stars. I use it only as a shutter release.
It works; no crashes or any misbehavior. But it certainly needs more controls to be useful in scenarios other than very simple ones. 1. access to more shooting parameters. (White balance, various bracketing settings, flash control) 2. Time lapse 3. Ability to turn off image transfer from camera to phohe for faster rounds. 4. Manual focus adjustment on the camera 5. Max zoom should be 10x (or more). Think of wide angle astrophotography where you need to adjust focus to see stars as few pixels
App uptdate is a mess Total crap since the uptate! Won't connect longer than a few seconds. I wasted half a night trying to get it to work. I'm compleatly disappointed and the embarrassed because I couldn't get the shots I needed. It worked great before. Now I'll probably never use it again.
This app will not stay connected with LG-G3 my 70d while data is on :_( I found putting my smart phone on airplane mode with the 70 D will connect fine. More testing needed. Update I typed cutting of the data on my phone and it stay connected as soon as I turned it data back on within 2 minutes disconnected from my smart phone. Canon please fix app.
Please get rid of automatically changing photos to lower resolution. Why would you do this? It's good for downloading images to my phone. The remote shooting is worthless on my Note 4 now. The wifi always disconnects when trying to take photos. Or the app itself crashes. Please fix.
Connect but can't see the image. My EOS M3 connected to my phone but when I try to view image it shows nothing at all. My device is Samsung Grand Prime. OS Kit Kat 4.4.4. Please help me. I also try the Camera Connect but it wouldn't connect to my phone.
Canon has released a new application "Camera Connect" to replace EOS Remote. Please use "Camera Connect" to connect your Canon digital camera to smartphones and tablets.
