Another sports game that cheats. Yet another sports game that creates difficulty in skill level simply by allowing the AI to do things you can't. That's not to mention the temperamental SWIPE control that'll have you running away from the ball instead of hitting it. 70% of points you'll lose because the controls have decided that when you swiped, you wanted to move your player AWAY from the ball, rather than hit it. 20% of points you'll lose because it'll produce not the shot you intended, e.g. instead of hitting to the open court, hitting it right back to your opponent. And 10% you'll lose because you're outplayed. At times it refuses you to move you to the ball -- even when you anticipate it and have tried to get yourself there with what should, do be plenty of time. Not a game that beats you with good play, but simply disadvantaging you when required. It's a shame, because when it does play purely on skill, it's enjoyable.
Great game, controls a bit tough and no online A pretty great port of the classic Sega original. Visuals are top notch. The controls I've found aren't intuitive with the swipe controls, and my player ends up running across the court instead of hitting the ball. The tutorial on how to play could use a bit of refinement to explain more. But the nice thing is there are about four different control sets, using the virtual stick as well as swipe so anyone should be able to find a fitting scheme. -1 star for no online play. Other than that the game is a welcome addition to Android and at the current $0.99 deal is a steal.
Great...... Then bad I love, looks great, great gameplay, easy to get really absorbed in the game....... And then it decides to send the ball where it likes no matter where you aim it. Seems to work better when I completely close program down when finish each tournament because this tends to be about the time it starts to get a bit tired and confused at what you're asking it to do. Nexus 7 running kit Kat...... Maybe other tablets run better and more consistently??? 5 stars if worked properly. If you're a tennis fan then I'd still recommend it... Just have to learn to live with the work around to the fatigue!!
So easy This game has a big bug which not many people find out. I know 1 trick that could win the game easily even it is the very hard mode. I often win the AI with love sets even I just pick Michael Shen (the weak character) as my player. Please make the difficulty harder so people won't get bored of this game.
Addictive for sure Admitted, it is addictive. My 1st review back in mid 2013 was 5-star. Now, I think 3 star is me being generous. Let's start: dropshot is a big fail, as is lob. While I've become perfect at anticipating the AI and Theron Tenniel, you still can't tell if a return is to the forecourt or a lob. Emm...what's all the money for when u can't use it? My player still bears his own name during career mode. Is that a scoreboard problem? Theron is a bug. Fix him.
A Real Good Buy This is a game worth investing, great UI, good graphics and some cool action on the court. Two things would make it a legendary game: 1. Adding few more events and choice of creating own avatars. 2. We need even difficulty levels as it fluctuates unevenly from player to player irrespective of their ranking. But you know what, this is one hell of a Tennis Game, so 5 stars.
