Ratings and reviews

It has a nice, clean interface. The lessons are quite basic, so I think some extra sources would be necessary for beginners. I like how it's tied to the Nihon Ki-in, and you can even receive official diplomas through the mail based on your Kyu rating. My only gripe is that there is no 19x19 board support. Otherwise, I'm enjoying the app a lot, and it has boosted my interest in the game.

I'm obsessed with it. It's great looking, feeling, sounding, and they even added a CCG mechanic to my favorite game. The AI helper functions can do a lot for new players. For those who don't need or want it, there's also match options without AI help. It also has lessons and tsumego. If I had to find a fault, I'm a little sad the playable board doesn't go up to 13x13, but I understand the need to keep board sizes small for small screens.

Fun, great display and sprites. innovative idea in the "joseki card battle" both players pick a corner and choose one of their joseki cards to start the game as though a standard joseki had been played in all four corners. It would be better if you could start off recognized as a higher level than 20k, perhaps a placement test. Certificates also only appear available through 1kyu, but perhaps dan levels will be added later.
