Finally! Really digging this. Simple and easy to use. I'm always trying to simplify my home screen. The one tap temp removal is great when it is covering something else in a app. One thing is I can't get widgets to work. 4 stars.
Going back to this (with the pro version) after spending much of the past year with a previous launcher by the same developer, Overlay Launcher. This allows for multipple launchers, and I wanted to have one swiped from the left that gave me my most used apps, and one swiped from the right that gave me shortcuts to dial my most used contacts. The developer has now added the ability to have a very large number of rows and columns, which was one of the reasons I opted for the older (but not supported) Overlay Launcher. My only complaint right now is that I like to "group" apps together on the screen in categories and buffer some groups with extra spaces, which you can do in Overlay, but with Smart Task Launcher the blank space contains a large "+" which kind of defeats the purpose. If there was a way of changing the color of this (there is text color control control in Overly but not here), or simply the ability to remove the pluses entirely or only show them in the app registration screen rather than the actual launcher, that would be optimal. For now I have to rely on a hack to add a most recent app shortcut which when added does not show or function, providing such a space...
The best & fast & full feature in multi tasking category Much better than swipe pad, because I'm not limited to only 12 portals. Wow with this I can increase to 81 app or Shortcuts even some widgets while free. I use swipe up to switch between last recent app and swipe again to current in a glance. Very useful to switch often between apps. I also defined swipe down to second recent app,and defined holding hotspot to open google keep widget because I use it most frequently. Thanks to the developer. why dosnt google play recommend this useful app to users? *******
Samsung Note 3 / Android 4.4.4 Excellent! Simplification at its best. I was in need of an app like this and I searched for about 40min before a ran across this app. PROS: Can add shortcuts, apps, and widgets! They didn't miss a thing unlike some apps. CONS: None thus far. I did have an issue where the hotspot keep disappearing. But it was due to a separate batt saving app closing Smart Task Launcher in the background. So I added it to the "no kill" list and never had the problem again. Has worked smoothly ever since.
Very cool The best one I found. I use it with Swipe Home Button to open it quickly. PROS: I can open a new app without going back to the home screen. Icons have fix places, so I know exactly where they are. CONS: I bought the pro version to have more launchers. The problem is I can't switch between them by swiping. I found an alternative solution, it's to add two icons, one for going to the previous launcher, and another one to go to the next, and put those icons on each launcher. For the problem of the "+" for empty places, I resolved it by linking the empty place to a dummy application (just uninstall the dummy application after).
Better than swipepad For free up to 81 shortcuts on one pad. Swipe options for hotspot including swipe up,down, tap , double tap, long press, left, lower left, upper left etc. it's a little slow and painful to add apps when loading the apps list but otherwise the best free swipe from side type app.
