Review from Christian Sell
Sending back XHM82 (£400) cos of this app Given the easiest way to control a huge NAS of music on a network audio player is with an app, Pioneer have gone very wrong with this app. Paginated scrolling is torture. No search facility. Slow to load screens and you have to tap screen on Lollipop to get rid of the waiting timer. Often says cant connect to unit. App lists unit as a CD player and its a network player. Unit crashes if you adjust volume whilst track streaming from app. Had system playing things for an hour that's enough for me :(
HM82 pioneer It's a shame its a very hit and miss app . works and then fails, also no updates in any way. a little annoying when you spend a lot of money on a pioneer HM82 ,and it won't work properly I feel disappointed.
Much more control needed, can't see much advantages to the remote control unit... There is no "Now playing" shortcut. Just after seconds of browsing it jumps to the play page on its own. Also, the lists should be continuous. Can't see song names, presumably the landscape view would resolve this problem. When browsing the inputs, or songs, the playback stops immediately, instead of continuing until the input/song selection is actually confirmed and seeking response is slow in Media Server. Unable to Playback the folders or playlists; it used to play smaller playlists, not anymore.
Horrible Now pandora no longer works, I have had this for over a year and always has issues. First pioneer and will be my last, will be going with another receiver and returning this under extended warranty because of this experience. Come on now! A year and a half and still cant get it right?
Won't download needed files Wouldn't ID my receiver. Manually added IP address and the receiver was recognized. But it won't download the files it needs to control the receiver. Fails each time.
Clunky and outdated It's shameful that Pioneer would release such a pathetic app to control it's so called Elite equipment (N-50). Navigation is slow and annoying. Third party apps control their equipment way better than this app. It's obvious Pioneer doesn't care about all of the negative ratings. The app is old enough for them to have made major improvements by now. It sucks that the c remote control is even worse.
Pioneer ARC (Advanced Remote Control) allows you to access various music sources
