Ratings and reviews

Most of the issues with this app lie with the horrible software of the headunit. I have a high end model, DMH 4660. Updating the software on the headunit is a pain, and lots of features are difficult to use or poorly designed. Example: I should be able to activate Alexa any time and pipe the communication over Bluetooth to the Alexa on the phone. Instead there's some gimmicky alternative, it has to be connected over wifi and be in Alexa mode.

Edit - able to connect more often, may very well be my android phone is the culprit, updating to 4 stars because it is a handy feature. (Previous): Unable to connect to my Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. Nice head unit, very pleased overall but constant CarAVAssist error message "the caravassist is not installed or awake" appears on the head unit whenever trying to synch.

Very sad and confused, thinking I could wirelessly use Android Mobile Hotspot only to find out the applications depicted on adds and box are not loaded into headset. App is very confusing, filmware update is poor, I truly hope Pioneer corrects the many bugs and issues around TRYING to use their app with their product. Paired with Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX
