Conversation Note - SOYOGI is a note for people who, because of aphasia after a stroke or similar, cannot find the words they want to say. Instead of relying on spoken words, you show the screen, point with a finger, and choose, so you can convey your feelings and needs to the people around you. It is made for the person and for the family and carers who support them.
■ Five screens to convey
Yes / No: large 👍 Yes and 👎 No, plus a third choice, Not sure. After you tap, you can undo it, so it is easy to correct without worry.
Condition / Pain: point to where it hurts on a body picture (front and back), then show how much with a face scale and a number from 0 to 10. It is a tool to tell the people around you how you are right now.
People / Photos: make cards from real photos of family, familiar places, or favorite foods. Add a photo from the camera or your album, and crop it to a square inside the app. A real photo often speaks more clearly than a drawing.
Numbers / Time: convey time, counts, and amounts with large numbers. The current time is shown too.
Words: a Japanese kana board (and letter boards for other languages), for those who can still read and write, to choose letters one by one and show them.
■ Show, point, convey
This app is a tool to show, point, and convey what you want to say, right here and now. Your choice appears large at the top so you can show it directly to the other person.
■ Adjust it to the person
Text size, a picture-only mode that hides text, care for a weaker visual side, calm color themes, quiet background music, and tap-to-read-aloud (off by default) can all be adjusted so it suits the person using it.
■ Designed for peace of mind
Completely free, with no ads and no account. Everything you write and every photo is stored only on your device and nothing is ever sent anywhere. The app works fully offline, so it can be used where there is no connection.
■ 12 languages
Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Korean, Chinese, and Arabic (Arabic is shown right to left).
■ About this app
This is one of the free welfare apps developed by SOYOGI, a care and support consultation service. Aphasia after a stroke is experienced by many people, most of them older adults. Commercial communication-support software and materials can cost a great deal, so we made this in the hope that it reaches the people who need it quietly, at no cost. It is simply a tool to support everyday conversation.
Show and point to convey. A note that helps talking. Offline, 12 languages.
