About this app

Trace the 1,026 kanji taught in Japanese elementary school (a basic level) with your finger, one stroke at a time, in the right order. No wrong marks, no scores. All you see is the kanji you traced today.

■Trace
The 1,026 kanji are grouped into tabs, Year 1 to Year 6, by the year they are taught. Choose any kanji. A light line moves stroke by stroke; trace over it with your finger. Move on with "Next stroke" at your own pace and tap "Done" at the end. Your tracing is never judged. You can also type or paste one kanji to open it right away.

■Read aloud
Each kanji shows one On reading and one Kun reading, with a button to read it aloud (in Japanese).

■Kanji and readings
The kanji and how they are grouped by year follow the kanji allocation table in Japan's Course of Study for Elementary Schools (2017 notice). The readings are based on the Joyo Kanji table (Japanese Cabinet notice, 2010).

■Kanji I traced today
Only today's kanji are listed. No scores, totals or completion rates. The list starts fresh on a new day.

■Stroke data
Stroke order data is from KanjiVG (Ulrich Apel, CC BY-SA 3.0).

■About this app
One of the free welfare apps from SOYOGI, a care and support consultation service in Japan. Fully offline, anonymous, no ads, no sign-up. The lines you trace are not saved. The record of the kanji you traced and your settings are stored only on your device and are never sent anywhere.
This app is not a substitute for medical care. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or contact a local support service.
No wrong marks. Relearning, just today's share.
