Picture Schedule - SOYOGI turns the day ahead into something you can see, using large picture cards. It is made for adults with intellectual disabilities or autism, for older people living with dementia, and for the families and carers who support them. What comes next, and how many steps are left, is shown in pictures, with no need to read.
■ The day, from top to bottom
The Today screen shows large picture cards stacked vertically. The current step sits at the top, and what is coming follows below. Tap a card and it is done: it fades away quietly and the next card rises to the top. A simple "cards left" count shows how close the day is to finishing. Being able to see the end brings real calm to many people.
■ Choose, then arrange
Around a hundred picture cards and a set of everyday templates are built in. On the Make screen you simply choose cards and put them in order to build the day. Every card label can be rewritten freely, so the words match how your household actually speaks. You can also hide the text and show the picture alone, which helps people who find reading hard. Add a photo from your library or take one on the spot, and crop it to a square right inside the app. A real photo often speaks more clearly than a drawing.
■ How-to, one step at a time
The How-to screen shows the steps of a single task one at a time: doing the laundry, brushing teeth, a task at work. Each step can have one sample photo and a few words, and Back, Next and Done move between the steps. Cards do not disappear, so an earlier step can be checked again. After Done on the last step, "All finished" appears. Previewing a new place, or the route from the bus stop to the clinic, works the same way. Save as many how-tos as you like by name, and have each step read aloud. Wide photos can be cropped too.
■ For focusing on one thing
The Focus screen shows just the current card, full screen, next to a countdown timer and a small preview of what comes next. It strips away the surrounding information so the person can meet one thing at a time.
■ A timer you can see
Set a length of time and the remaining time shrinks as a colored wedge. It shows how much is left far more intuitively than numbers alone.
■ Safe from accidental taps
By default the app runs in a locked personal mode that hides the make and settings screens, so the person using it cannot change the plan by touching the screen. When a family member or carer wants to build the plan, tapping the lock mark several times in a row unlocks Edit mode. It can only be relocked from a settings button, so it never comes undone by accident.
■ Adjust it to the person
Text size and card size each have three steps. You can choose from four calm themes, quiet background music, and a gentle tap sound. The number of seconds a card takes to fade, and the seconds before the next one rises, can be tuned to the person's own pace.
■ Designed for peace of mind
Completely free, with no ads and no account. Plans and photos are stored only on your device and nothing is ever sent anywhere. The app works fully offline. When you change phones, use export and import to carry everything over.
■ 12 languages
Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Korean, Chinese, and Arabic (Arabic is shown right to left).
■ About this app
This is one of the free welfare apps developed by SOYOGI, a care and support consultation service. Picture-based schedules have been known for decades. We made this in the hope that it reaches the people who need it quietly, at no cost. This app does not claim any treatment or training effect. It is simply a tool to support the day ahead.
