Not sure about this recently... Have noticed that a lot of quakes are not showing up in history of late (for example, there was a huge one this morning, but hours later, Namazu Alert does not show it - in fact, the last one it shows was one day ago). This makes me suspicious of whether the app can actually still send alerts properly. I love the customization, and in the last when it worked, it beat all other alerts (TV, Yurekuru, alerts on native carrier apps, etc). But it needs fixing, I suspect. (AU HTC One)
Fastest and most accurate app This app is accurate and fast. Usually the alarm comes either seconds before or just during the first tremors. Very useful app especially for people without Japanese cellphones. This is just as good and in most cases better or the same as the early warning system used by Japanese cell phone companies. They must use similar data. I am using only wifi connection and it's perfect.
Doesn't alert on time Simply fails to alert in time. Yurekuru Call in comparison still delivers earthquake alerts in time for me to prepare. I get alerts minutes, if not hours, late with Namazu. The difficulty of setting this up properly also doesn't help much in this regard. If you're counting on this for a lifeline I suggest another app, namely Yurekuru.
Recent problems This app used to be great. But in the last few months alerts are very slow to come (so no longer useful as a warning) and many earthquakes aren't reported at all. E.g it's 830pm on 7.12.12 and it is yet report the large earthquake that hit easy Japan an hour ago, though it had reported a more minor subsequent quake!?
Was great. Now "fails to obtain data". That's the error msg I keep getting now. Opening the dev's webpage reveals current earthquake alerts but nothing shows anymore in the app. I like this app and use it a lot. Pls fix...
Good but... Seems to have troubles with servers... Hasn't updated in over 6 hours & is 15 minutes off from the big 7.8 that just shook everyone
