To those of you who send me emails - I apologize for not answering all of them. I simply haven't had the time or energy the last few years.




From December 21 (2017) my OpenWeatherMap account will be suspended because the number of requests using my API key significantly exceeds the threshold of the free subscription that is 60 calls per minute.


If you need the weather sync you will have to use your own API key for now.


Forest Live Wallpaper is a nice, relaxing wallpaper with trees blowing in the wind and a sky that changes from dusk till dawn.

Don't forget to go into settings to turn on things like weather, multisampling* or the 3D parallax effect*, if you don't wanna miss out!
* Not supported on all devices.

Troubleshooting
How do I use this wallpaper on my lock screen?

You need to have a lock screen that can use live wallpapers as background, like Locker Master or something. You might just need to enable it in the launcher settings. When setting a wallpaper on Galaxy S6, e.g., you choose whether to use if for your home screen, lock screen or both. The one in the screen shot is part of the ROM CyanogenMod.

The screen is too dark at night!

There's a color setting called Night-time multiplier that you can change to a brighter color, making the trees and hills brighter at night. It's not the perfect solution, but it'll have to do until I (eventually) add a fix.

The weather is wrong! D:<

Make sure you have a location set in the location settings, then check if Recent weather data (via the menu in the weather settings) is available, up to date and for the correct location. If not, the weather provider is simply not accurate, but now you can change the weather provider.

Used for fetching weather data from OpenWeatherMap and ForecastIO. Can be changed in the settings and is turned off by default.

Used for getting an approximate location, which in turn is used for fetching local weather data and for calculating the sun's elevation.

Great weather wallpaper app. My only complaint is that the blue sky and white clouds tend to wash out the notification bar at the top of the screen. There should be an option to limit the wallpaper from displaying over the notification bar. Also, the developer states in the app info that there will be infrequent updates. Not joking, the last update was 2 years ago, and the developer has never posted a reply to the reviews here.

Cool app, but the making of custom themes doesn't entale changing any colors, or if it does, I don't fully understand how. I wish there was a better tutorial. Also, you should be able to adjust how zoomed in the camera is, because when I edit it, it looks fine, but when I actually set it as wallpaper you can barely see a few trees because it is so zoomed in. This app has so much potential, and I really think you can make it better, just please, please fix my problems. You probably won't even see this review anyway, though.

Pleasant wallpaper, just wished it was not so "zoomed in". I would like to zoom out so I can fit more of the background. Had to edit this review and remove a star. For an unknown reason, the live wallpaper shows that it should be raining, but Open Weather shows that it is not expected to rain and the sky is just partly cloudy in reality. Guess I will have to look for another app as the app only includes one weather service provider. API keys are not easy to get to change the provider.
