A police officer, Ben, awakens in hospital after an accident to find the city overrun by zombies!
What in the world is going on here? Can the government be relied on? Do any other survivors remain?
Ben stumbles upon a doctor named Barbra while struggling through zombie-infested streets.
Together, they make their way to Ben's police station, but only more horror awaits them.

Solid little RPG. Beat it in under ten hours. Fairly linear experience, but you'll keep wanting to play it. Hard to stop. Great retro graphics and music. Felt like I was playing an old school Sega game. Pretty easy. Almost never had to use serums, was able to save most of my ammo for boss fights. Worth 8 bucks, hope they make a sequel.

I love the idea of mixing the zombie genre with the JRPG genre. However, the novelty quickly wears off here with poor writing, that feels inappropriate for a zombie themed game. The turn based system is so basic, you will be bored before you know it. And the levels cap out at 30. Which happens a good deal before the final areas. Nothing was even remotely difficult. It's a really cool concept, however marred by lousy design. Could have been much better.

Raging Bytes is a mixed bag. On one hand the actual gameplay is incredibly fun at least for the early part of the game. The decision making of choosing to fight one zombie vs squaring off against a horde is something that few games correctly capture. However, as the game progresses this becomes less and less of a bright spot in the game because zombie’s ranged attacks discourage you from engaging in the first place. At a price point of $7.99 I would have enjoyed something a bit more dynamic.
