About this app

VRS eezy.nrw is your app for easy travel by bus and train in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Simply board, swipe right, and you have a valid bus and train ticket. Swipe again when you get off at your destination, and you're done. The fare will be displayed after the journey.

The shortest distance (as the crow flies) between the boarding and alighting stops is always calculated. It doesn't matter how many stops you make during the journey or whether you transfer between regional trains, S-Bahn (commuter trains), U-Bahn (subway), buses, trams, or light rail.

How it works:

1. Register in the app once before your first journey. If you already have a customer account for the VRS, KVB, REVG, RVK, or Wupsi app, you can use the "VRS eezy.NRW" app with your existing customer account.

2. Before boarding the vehicle, simply swipe the arrow button in the app to the right to check in. The final destination doesn't matter. The app will track your location even when running in the background to determine your journey.

3. If you are checked, simply click "Show Ticket" and present the barcode in the app.

4. Once you reach your destination, swipe right again in the app to check out. The cost of the trip will be displayed. You can conveniently pay by SEPA direct debit, credit card, or PayPal.

Update: Tested rides and its very easy. The cost is almost same as shown in fare calculator. However It would make more sense to integrate price calculator within the App. Moreover, it is not at all user friendly and rather looks scary because of plain screen. Used few times and didn't had any problems. Also you can't add additional passanger during the checkout

Very good and easy to use. And the tickets are cheaper than in the machine. Sometimes it froze when I tried to check in inside the ubahn. Now I always check in some minutes before entering the ubahn and it is all fine. It does not charge me more for logging in minutes before entering the transportation.

So far login was easy. Haven't tested a ride yet. The idea is good but the price calculator needs to be available in-app and be offered before check-in by default. Different prices underlying the calculation for different regions is complete nonsense and makes people feel insecure.
