About this app

EnerTalk – free energy bill tracking

The free EnerTalk app is an innovative and engaging way to monitor your electricity usage and your spending. With this app you can access your home real-time energy usage right from your smartphone at any moment. It even supports multiple properties and it doesn’t require any hardware purchase or installation!

Key features:

1. Energy tracking:

Monitor your energy usage and visualize your daily and monthly patterns

2. No surprises:

Estimate your monthly bill and ensure that you are properly charged by your electric utility

3. Updates on-the-go:

Set your goals in the app and receive useful tips, saving opportunities based on your energy use

How does it work?

When you connect the app with your utility provider account, we pull the energy data and render it on the app for your convenience. This way you’ll be able to see the historic energy usage, daily patterns and current day/month summary, all based on your actual usage data.

We currently support these 2 utility companies:

-Pacific Gas & Electric

-San Diego Gas & Electric

Note:

Solar Production

This is the net amount of (solar) power sent back to the grid at any available data interval. In most cases this is not equal to your total solar production. This value equals to your solar production minus the electricity used at the same time by active loads in your electric system.

Really simple app. UI is a little bumpy - could use a better way to page through daily interval samples that clearly shows time, energy, and cost, without needing to keep my finger held down. Seems that some designers don't have a good feel for how users actually want to use the app regularly, or don't agree on how to do it. Also, PG&E doesn't provide quick enough data (delayed by 2 days usually) but that's not EnerTalk's fault.

I would have given a 5 star only if it had a way to set alerts. But otherwise, great tool. I use it to monitor my solar excess so I can see when is best to charge my Tesla. I also like the total for the month. I was using before the Rainforest app but this is definitely better, specially the visualization on a circle. 👍👍

Well-designed app. Allows me to see my actual electricity use as well as solar production, at 15 minute intervals. Also shows past use and compare it to the previous year. It features time of use rate b but not a which is what I actually have.
