Great little sound meter This is a handy app that is very useful for quick sound pressure level testing. It has load of functionality and is a great tool for environmental health professionals in the field. Highly recommended.
Very imprecise: After calibrating above a ridiculous +22dB, compared to a professional NTI XL2 measurement mic, the readings were off by ±3dB. Free Apps similar to this one provide much better measurements with much better features and only require ±1dB calibration. Too simplistic, no indication wether the weighting is A, C, SPL, no speed const setting. Nothing can be considered a tool if it doesn't provide a reference, dB is a scale dependent unit so if there's no unit stated, the value is useless.
Nice but the calibration changed significantly (less ~15dB) with the Marshmallow on the HTC One M8 and now I'm questioning which calibration is more correct, if either are/were correct to begin with. I don't have a my own meter to compare unfortunately.
Galaxy s5 Good app works great I use this to monitor the noise my nebours are making idots play bongo middle of the night.
Easy to use Very easy to use and love that the have the comparable info -- definitely don't want to get up to "Space Shuttle Launch" volume!
Like it Great way to determine if there is a hazard to workers present and if a more formal noise survey should be done.
