By placing weight and height of the patient along with the initial dose of insulin per kilo, immediatly calculates BMI and insuling distributed at 8 and 18 hours (NPH and Rapid).

Morning - 2/3 (2/3 NPH Insuline | 1/3 Rapid Insulin)
Afternoon - 1/3 (1/2 NPH Insuline | 1/2 Rapid Insulin)

For who ?
Especially designed for Diabetes type 1 patients, also known as insulin-dependent diabetes, following “functional insulin therapy” protocols with rapid acting insulins, either with by pump or needle injections. But also meaningful for doctors, advisers and nurses.
For what ?
First of all, because we have been dreaming for a while about it for private usage. So we are very keen on sharing our experience with you.
To compute the rapid acting insulin dose (UI) assumed to be injected according to the carbohydrates and lipid meat contents and corrective factors from your medical protocol. The input data are limited within default range values but input values keep anyway under your entire responsibility. Your data are recorded locally into your smart-phone database. You can export these data into a CSV file format (e.g. to be able to easily import your data into your PC favorite calc spreadsheet. In case of requested export (EXPORT button), the recorded CSV file will be localized onto your SD card. No data are exchanged with external devices or servers.
Full detailed statistics (average, min, max values over several time periods) are available for each parameter (Blood Glucose, Insulin Units, Carbohydrates, Lipids).
Every parameter is shown in a graphical view as well. The view is zoomable (in/out). The base view shows last week data and it can be slided or zoom over time just playing with your finger ends.
Your blood glucose readings are stored on your Android device. They can be shared with someone who care about you via SMS text message automatically when you enter them. Reminders popup at a specified time everyday to remind you to check your blood sugar. Tap on the reminder and it will take you straight to the app.
I created this app for a friend whose has a 13 year old daughter with type 1 diabetes and was afraid to let her stay with friends for fear she'd forget to check her blood sugar and/or forget to take her insulin. He wanted to know when she checked her blood sugar so that he would not have to worry.

To calculate insulin units, enter the value of your current blood sugar and the number of carbohydrates contained in your meal. Press the Calculate button and the actual and rounded insulin units will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Insulin units are calculated using the following formula:
((Pre-Meal Blood Sugar - Blood Sugar Goal) / Correction Factor) + (Meal Carbohydrates / Carbohydrate Factor)
I wrote this app after my 8 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with diabetes, with the goal of accuracy and ease of use in mind. The goal was reached because she uses it daily to calculate her own insulin units. The units are double checked by an adult, but the app is simple enough for a child to use.

Paramedic Meds is a great tool for medics in the field. This medical app contains nearly 100 of the most common used drugs and drips for quick reference at your finger tips. It also includes calculators to give you either mL/hr or gtt/min. With each drug you will quickly be able to see its class, action, indications, contraindications, precautions, side effects, routes, adult dosing, and pediatric dosing. Paramedic Meds also gives you the standard infusion rates for certain medications.
You can add your own drugs, customize any drug, and hide drugs that you don't use.
