Deadline.live provides a simple and reliable digital safety net to those in potentially vulnerable situations. We aim to be the ultimate ICE app.
• Medical ID
• Dead man's switch
• Panic button
• Panic widget
• Customisable SMS to be sent to emergency contact
• 24/7 tracking of your deadline check-ins
• Ability to monitor other people's deadlines (useful for family and friends)
• Location tracking
• Location updates to ensure you can be found if you were to move
• 99.9% up-time for our server to ensure we are constantly monitoring your deadlines
We use the idea of a dead man's switch and medical ID to protect you even when you can't. What this means is we give you a time that countdowns (24 hours by default). You need to tap your heart to reset your deadline any time within those 24 hours.
If you fail to tap your heart your deadline expires and an SMS containing your current location is sent to your emergency contact. Family and friends can also download Deadline.live to monitor you in real-time, receive notifications, and also request location updates if your deadline has expired.
Our medical ID system displays as a notification on your phone 24/7. In an emergency those nearby can look at your phone, click the notification, and be told more information and how to help you. It even works with locked phones!
As well as a dead man's switch and medical ID, we also have a panic button which immediately expires your deadline for situations where you are in control but still know you need help.
There are two roles in our app. The majority of you will be Users. Users are people that need monitoring and have their own Deadline. Watchers only want to monitor Deadlines and have no need for their own. However, if you are a User you also have the ability to monitor other Deadlines, the best of both worlds! You are also able to switch roles whenever you feel like it.
There are some situations where we humans don't feel completely safe. We want to remove this feeling and make you feel safe 24/7. Some situations where we can help are:
• Chronic conditions e.g. diabetes
• People that suffer from anxiety
• Those with medical conditions
• Someone that is injured and may need help
• Walking home alone at night
• Going on holiday to an unknown location
• Going on a hike alone
There are plenty more situations where we can be used. In fact using us just every day to feel safer is completely fine and what we (the developers) do.
Deadline.live began as a solution for those that suffer from diabetes. A common problem with diabetes is low sugar level. In severe situations this can be life threatening. What complicates this even further is that confusion is a common symptom, a diabetic may not realise they need help. With this in mind Deadline.live was created. We take away the need for action for those in need of help. Even if you pass out or are unable to call for help, failing to check-in with Deadline.live will trigger your dead man's switch and alert others that you need help.
With out medical ID, dead man's switch, and panic button system, we believe we have created the ultimate ICE (in case of emergency) app to help those that may feel vulnerable.
Alerts for expired Deadlines are sent via phone push notifications and via SMS if selected. If you have no signal at the point when someone expires, don't panic. Our system will keep trying to contact your phone. As a backup we also send emails to notify you.
Deadlines are tracked on our server so if your phone dies or you have no signal, your Watchers will still be notified that your Deadline has expired.
It's important to note that Deadline.live does not guarantee your safety and is not responsible for any adverse experiences or situations. It is intended to be used as a comfort service and as a helpful tool to reassure those feeling vulnerable.
