About this app

aTox is a free open-source messaging app for the Tox protocol.

Why aTox?
* Open-source: free to share, inspect, and change as you like.
* Reasonable: sane defaults, no guesses about what you care about, doesn't ignore what you want.
* End-to-end encrypted: the only people who can see your conversations are the people you're talking to.
* Distributed: no central servers that can be taken down or compelled to turn over data.
* Lightweight: no telemetry, ads, or other forms of monitoring.

This app is TOP NOTCH (not only, but) mainly because it's written and supported by a single person, which makes it stupidly not famous, thus it keeps a cozy space under the radar, which makes it much more privacy oriented than it's peers. I mean, I don't believe there is even one federal government who's "listening & reading" its chatlogs on regular basis, like telegram or viber.

The app is extremely simple, that maybe would be ok if it would work, sending files doesn't work at least on my devices.

It's a fine implementation, but I can't find the option to change my profile picture/avatar. Additionally, I would love to have the option to record and send audio directly from within the application ("voice notes") and maybe also pictures. That's pretty much all I have to say. Thank you for you work, and have a nice day, noon, or evening. Edit: how do I call someone?

I haven't yet added support for changing your avatar, but it's on my backlog. Recording/sending audio clips is being worked on and will be in the next release. Thank you for the feedback and kind words! Best, Robin
