Good but needs work The play style of Saki is really fluid and gives new players a chance, as well as seasoned players a challenge. The tiles are where it let's itself down with new players probably confused at what the tiles mean, adding in options to change the tiles style would be the best way forward. Also the discard of tiles is smooth, but the move around and discard of the AI is too fast. All in all I enjoy the game, but the improvements I've suggested would make it better.
Cute and engrossing fun! Uninstall that Virtual Tenhou and make way for some far more engaging mahjong action! You gotta love this new Japanese Riichi mahjong game. Obviously a lot of time went into the concept and development/testing. Great stats page, opponent choices and language options. Character superpowers make this game more fun/challenging than any other mobile mahjong game to date. Please donate and help make this game even better!
Better than others out there in some aspects, worse in others. Tile design could be a lot better as it uses Chinese-style tiles instead of Japanese-style, which is weird given this is Riichi mahjong. UI could use improvement as well¸ the discards have no animation to them and are instant so AI discards waaay too fast. The worst part is that your drawn tile is instantly sorted into your hand instead of being put to a side, like it should be. Otherwise, pretty good! Has plenty of necessary options, such as Red Fives and Open Tanyao, has simplified tiles for those playing on a phone and such. Powers can, thankfully, be turned off as well.
Very good for beginners. As some users have said, adding some character voices and bgm would spice the game up. But, for people (like myself) with VERY limited internal storage space on their older smartphones, this app being less than 2mb is great. The only other suggestion I could add is either adding a assist mode for players new to the game, or make an entire app for training only which demonstrates various winning hands and how to build them.
Much better hand detection than Tenho. Just turn off the supernatural powers if you don't want them.
Good game, nice powers It's a fun way to pass time. My only complaint is that I can't seem to start in any position other than East.
