I've used Obsidian for a couple years. It's a very good note-taking app. Vault (a paid add-on) makes syncing across devices effortless, but other cloud solutions also work. Composing in markdown's fast: your hands never leave the keyboard. It stores notes in markdown, so there's no lock-in: you can open them in a text editor. Once a note is synced to your device, you can reliably get to it even when you're offline. Quirks are in tables (a bit clunky) and the outline (hard to find on phones).

This app started out as a blessing and accomplished so much for me! It helped me basically merge three note apps into one, with over 1000 notes. But in just a few days, the navigation got very clunky and not user friendly at all. And over half of all the notes I imported are gone! And I can't even access the notes I created on this app! I'm extremely pissed! Is this the penalty for not upgrading? Don't tell me to contact you.. This shouldn't happen and needs a global fix!

the app is My Go-to when it comes to Taking notes, writing journals, organizing ideas and more. however it requires Learning curve to set the Obsidian app properly as you wish. the UI is honestly pretty unintuitve by not showing "Main Page" showing latest notes, it instead shows the recently edited note. but of course you can use community plugins if you want main page UI. the fact it uses markdown and does not require sign in or premium for its features really sold it for me.
