The app promises more than it provides. Depending on the key scan, it limits the "hundreds of custom keys to choose from". For me it's basic brass or NY subway map. That's all. The kiosk gave no choice either, and then it botched the copies and I was refunded. Weary of trying to buy keys off the app now.
Awesome when locked out. Just be smart enough to make sure you scan your keys and continue the process with fingerprint identification at kiosk for access to your digital keychain. This isn't just an APP it's a life saver if your keys are misplaced, lost or stolen. Beats paying outrageous $ for an emergency locksmith at 2am. Locked out no longer!
Rubbish. The whole point of the app is to be able to scan a key and then later go to a kiosk and have it cut the key. When I arrived at the kiosk it couldn't find my saved keys. Customer service took 15 minutes to pick up and then told me that I would have to order a key by mail, call them back to cancel the order, then my keys would show up at the kiosk. Convenient it is not.
Everything is great except the scanned key is the same static image. The only way to tell if the scan was accurate is to place an order. I'm not sure how I can trust this app's scanning capabilities if it can't even give me an attempt at generating an image of my key.
Frustrated and disappointed. My niece dutifully downloaded the app on to her iphone to "share" a key with me after I also dutifully downloaded the app to my android phone. But when I went to the kiosk to "print" the key my niece had "shared," the key was not shown as an available key. Worse yet, although the key was INITIALLY shown as available on the app, that same key suddenly became unavailable (key symbol turned red) due to supposed "data connection" problems. Bottom line: wonky software and not reliable. Only upside was I didn't have to pay for a bad experience.
Interesting concept - but the app faces some HCI issues and the kiosks falsely identify transponder keys commonly... Plus with the extremely wide variance in keyblanks... Id be very surprised if it could be useful beyond basic house keys
Minor bugfixes related to the kiosk map.
