Lyft likes to present itself as the driver frendly rideshare company, but in practice Uber treats their riders much better. As a driver for both Lyft plays more games and treats their drivers more poorly. Previously the only advantage to Lyft for drivers was the tipping. Now that Uber has implemented tipping there is little to no reason why drivers like me continue to drive for them. I'd advise riders to use Uber. It's a better app and they treat their drivers better.
Failed to deliver me a driver!! I was automatically transferred to FOUR different drivers while waiting for my pickup, and each time the ETA reset over or even got longer. Horrible. This almost made me miss my dinner reservations. I canceled the ride and scheduled an Uber instead, which arrived in 10 minutes without automatically changing my drivers on me. Sorry Lyft but this service let me down.
Because your using different driver's, it's not the app that may be difficult, but the people who drive for this company. With that said, I've been lucky to have quite a few Drivers who were more than professional and had a good time riding with them. Very few that I have not had a good ride with. Driving can be a stressful job that I understand all to well. I am a truck driver. I use this and another app to travel around cities when I have time. So far so good.
I can't opt out of marketing push notifications. Support suggested I disable all notifications but that cripples the application. I would switch to something that doesn't spam me, but my other option is Uber and I can't support their culture of discrimination. Stick between a black car and a purple place.
Lyft is a very useful service. I use it a couple times a week. Only down side is that there is no credits for current customers besides referring a friend.it be cool if there was like ride 3 times get 1 ride free.. Just saying..
My first long distance ride was really disappointing. At first my ride was supposed to be lesd than $30 because of a promo code, I was really happy at first but then it changed. The app kept stopping and every time I reopened it it was something different. I kept updating it but it was no good. At the end I was picked up by an XL (it was just me in the ride) had to change the destruction address while on the freeway, by the time I got home it was a $60 ride
Thanks for choosing Lyft! To make your rides even better, we update the app regularly. It’s like housekeeping: squashing bugs, cleaning up code, and other small-but-mighty improvements.
Ride with Uber for fast, reliable rides that are affordable and available 24/7.
