WearRetro puts four classic systems on your wrist, in a single app. No phone needed while you play, no account, no connection. Open your watch and play.
SEVEN GAMES ARE ALREADY INSIDE
WearRetro ships with seven free homebrew games, playable one tap from the menu. Nothing to download, nothing to transfer from a phone:
- Tobu Tobu Girl and Geometrix, on the handhelds
- uCity, a full city builder for the colour handheld
- uCity Advance, its larger sequel on the advanced handheld
- Alter Ego and Falling, on the 8-bit home console
- Castle Platformer, on the 16-bit home console
You can be playing twenty seconds after install.
EVERYTHING IS UNLOCKED
WearRetro is a one-time purchase. No in-app purchases inside it, no subscription, no advertising, no "Pro" tier, no trial that expires. Every feature is there from the first launch:
- Four save-state slots per game, on all four systems
- Full speed control, frame pacing and frame skip
- Eight on-screen control layouts, switchable mid-game
- Per-system control layouts and colour themes
- Battery saves, the games' own save files, written to disk and restored automatically, so long-game progress survives closing the app
HOW IT COMPARES TO OUR FREE EMULATORS
Takohi also publishes four free single-system emulators: WearGB, WearGBA, WearSNES and WearNES. Each covers one system and is free to install, with a limited free tier: manual save slots and the faster speed modes stay locked until you unlock them inside each app, one app at a time.
WearRetro is the complete edition of all four: every system, every feature unlocked, one purchase, one icon, one library, one set of settings.
Want to check how it runs on your own watch before buying? Install the free emulator for your favourite system first, it runs on the same engine. If you want more than one system, or you want the limits gone, WearRetro is the version to buy.
SUPPORTED SYSTEMS
- The 8-bit home console that defined a generation
- The original monochrome handheld and its colour successor
- The advanced handheld of the 32-bit era
- The 16-bit home console
BUILT FOR THE WATCH
- Round-screen layout that respects the safe area, so controls are not clipped by the bezel
- Rotating crown and bezel scrolling
- One-tap Continue returns you to your last game from the main menu
- Emulation and sound pause when the screen turns off, instead of draining the battery in your pocket
- Runs fully offline
BEFORE YOU BUY
Playing on a watch means a small screen and small touch targets. It works, and the bundled games suit it well, but it is a different experience from a handheld console. If you are unsure, try one of the free emulators first.
BRING YOUR OWN GAMES
Beyond the seven bundled homebrew titles, WearRetro plays your own legally obtained game files, transferred from your phone through the on-watch import. WearRetro is a player: it contains no commercial games and no copyrighted game data, and it does not help you obtain any.
