Solid app, needs some tweaks Can you please add more options for "delete after"? Right now it jumps from 30 days to 180. I would love a 60 and 90 setting.

Forgets its place If I stop the podcast in the middle for whatever reason, it didn't resume from the same place, it just goes back to the beginning.

You cheated me. I paid for the unlock key for one reason: to use your app with chromecast audio. I touch the chromecast icon in your app and I hear the tone on the chromecast audio indicating the casting has commenced. However the feeds are not cast. I continue to hear them only on my phone, not on the chromecast audio. What gives? As an update, I figured out how to cast. The button to do this is not obvious in this app. The separate play button plays only to the phone even if connected to chromecast audio.

Unintuitive UI I don't like the UI. I like the Lists feature, but it's actually less user-friendly than Podcast Addict (which is free). Still looking for a good, clear podcast player with lists...

WOW STILL NO FIX (checked 3-1-16, since 1-1-16) FOR: Update broke pause on incoming call! I'll be checking back AND LOWERING my stars rating until this is FIXED. Older version used to pause on incoming calls and resume when call is completed now it just plays until you hit pause

Needs fixing I used to be able to store my shows on my SD card. Now when I use the app to move the folder, it deletes them and still downloads to device storage.

I loved it until the newer version So frustrating, and I paid for this app. I'm trying to apply an "unheard" filter to all feeds but it looks like I have to do it by feed - or it's just not obvious how to do it. It's also harder to switch between feeds - used to click on the feed name at the top to get a list of feeds but now I have to click on the top left nav button which in most apps is the menu button. For me it is an unfortunate redesign and I will search for a new app while I try to figure this one out.
Not free i got used to thebold versionnof this.... new version isnt very intuitive ao stopped using it for a while.
Unintuitive I've no idea when the major overhaul to the UI occurred but I reset my phone and when I reinstalled the app I was sorely disappointed. Everything takes more taps and trying to browse episodes from a feed is much worse, half the time it just starts downloading the most recent episode and it's much harder to see which episodes you have downloaded and which ones you've marked as listened to, you have to tap to expand the list of episodes every time unlike before, everything is worse.
It wasn't broken so they fixed it This has been my podcast app of choice for 3 years but after the recent update it has turned into this sleek monstrosity with a completely different user interface. I hope they reconsider and revert to the old look and create a separate app for those people who like the new look.
The interface in the upgrade is a disaster. It went from simple and easy to a confusing cluster f.... Nov. 2015: Finally removed this POS. I held on for as long as I did because it would sync with Google TV. My last GTV is gone so I no longer need this crap. Switched to another app that allows me to watch on my PC as well (and syncs).
Functionality is great, interface is garbage. I have been using this app for about 6 or so years. Once you have smartplay dialed in you really don't have to touch the app. Just start and play. But setting everything up can take days to find all of the settings since the "Material design" refresh a while ago.
Great but... I have used this app for a couple years, and had the full version for almost a year. Great app for listening & organizing, but, It recently developed the cutting out problem mid episode that others describe. It will Just stop mid podcast and need to be restarted. I'm on a Sony z3. It also drops episodes from the playlist overnight, and you need to re-add them. Please fix the app!!!
Have used this for years and loved it. As of about a week ago NONE of my feeds will update anymore. Emailed support. Received a dismissive and unhelpful reply (suggesting thay my feeds websites no longer exist... really?! Feeds such as serial? I dont think so) with no resolution.
Old vs New I have used this app on each of my last two phones: finding the experiece generally positive. Currently, I use the old device - Galaxy S3 - as a wifi only media device, while my newer LG G3 acts is my actual phone. In general, I have few problems with the app, however the new phone seems to have a discrepancy in the feed update times. In general, my old phone gets the new shows the day of, but the new one has a lag of about 3 days that is then all updated at once. However, I would still recommend the app.
Won't download anymore I've been using this app (unlocked) for many years and the UI is getting more complex all the time. I recently installed it on a new phone and now can't figure out how to convince it to really download episodes overnight. I have set the download option on every single feed, but nothing. Too many settings option all over the place.
Restarts Podcasts after pause When I pause for more than a couple of minutes, podcasts start at the beginning instead of resuming from where I left off. This only became an issue on the last two versions. Iove the UI and other functionality and this would be five stars if they could fix this issue and integrate the software with Sonos so I can play podcasts on on my speakers.
Good but... Have been using this app since 2012 and it does have all the features I need such as schedule based auto download, limit to wifi, backup/sync, etc. But the design is not very intuative. Even now in 2016 I still find myself trying to figure out how to change my download schedule...
Awful UI Update This used to be a brilliant podcast manager. The new UI seems designed to actively enrage users. Please give us the good version back. Update: A year has passed and the UI is still complete garbage. Worthless. Update 2: A new year. BeyondPod UI team still run by drunk, blind, idiot monkeys.
Keeps cutting out The programme keeps cutting out in the middle of podcasts and cannot be restarted from headphones (wired or bluetooth) without going back to the actual app on the 'phone (Note4). When it does restart it rewinds to what seems like a bookmark in the file. It will then play up to the point it got to before and stop again. Restarting takes ypu back to the "bookmark" - eventually you have to take action, restart and advance the playback past the "scratch". This happens with podcasts from different sources.
Nice and polished looking that's for sure. Thought about ranking lower though because it's missing some big things. Now it can do audio boost (which shouldn't be buried in advanced settings) BUT not while streaming. It is also lacking the ability to do "silence skip". Even if it did I'm guessing they would make it only with downloaded podcasts. A few stand out podcast players actually allow those things I listed WHILE streaming.
Recent problem with saving to external SD Recently doesn't write to external SD, and problem come back after I fix it. The error says it's due to kitkat OS, but my xperia Z2 is on lollipop 5.1. So I switch to Podcast Addict and everything works well now. Too bad, I used beyondpod since windows mobile, before android exist lol!
Uses data Beyond Pod free will let you download one podcast at a time. I listen to my podcasts at an area without wifi, but with cellular data. Before I listen I download the podcasts at home. For several months this seemed to work. I don't know if the app changed or I have. Over a month I've used 600 MB of data through the app. I'm going to try a different app.
Remove yellow update notification Finally had to uninstall as the unintuitive interface continued to distract while driving. From having a random older episode playing after the one you are listening to ends to not being able to see all episodes easily. Too dangerous. Please for the love of god remove the update notification. It is set up so it's timed perfectly to have you hit the feed above the one you want. It appears just as you are about to click.
This used to be my favorite podcast app, and it was the first with Chromecast support, but it really has gone downhill! The app is incredibly slow and choppy, now - even on a brand new phone. It runs the device hot, drains the battery, and somehow seems to use more data than it actually should. The interface is pretty, but has a tremendous lag and even if it worked right, requires too much non-intuitive customization and tweaking to get it where I want it. I've abandoned this app for something else - it's sad to leave something that used to work so well.
