Samsung Captivate It works. It gets the brightness level down to where my eyes aren't bothered and it doesn't bother my fiance when I'm on it while she's sleeping. It doesn't go drastically below the system minimum, but its more than noticeable and exactly what I needed. Widgets would be awesome. I didn't understand the launcher reference in the instructions. Overall, solid app. Thanks!
Works with limitations Motorola Xoom 4G: About half the time, when I turn the screen back on, the screen has been dimmed to my lowest setting. This means if I'm in the sunlight, I can't see my screen at all! I have to approximate where my unlock pattern should be and then go to the home screen and tap the shortcut icon I have to restore the brightness to a good setting.
Works Great I love this app I just discovered. It works as it is supposed to at least on a Motorola Droid X2 with CM7. Just be sure to have root access or it won't. I have had no issues with it thus far. I expect much of that comes from using CyanogenMod 7 which is stock Android rather than the Motorola Blur Android. If you have problems consider going to XDA to get a more stock OS for your device.
Does exactly what I needed I never was too happy with the lowest brightness setting on my Droid3. This app made it go a lot dimmer. For quick access, the developer mentions using the Launcher. On the Droid3, simply hold press down on an empty area of your screen, and create a new Shortcut. In the list of shortcuts, you can see references to the various profiles. Excellent app, thank you!
Works as expected! But.... A few software glitches are there. Sometimes it brightness returns to normal when phone is unlocked. Sometime brightness return to normal even when screen is on. When you check the lock and turn off screen and the turn it back on screen doesn't light up! duh. It lack consistency. But its the best concept by far out there.
Works perfectly. Thanks My (rooted) phone uses IPS crystal screen and the lowest brightness level is still strenuous to my eyes. This app really saved me. I could have gladly paid for it if it's a paid version. A million thanks to the developers.
- bug fix
- add support for light control on devices that don't support 'trigger' interface
- include other light settings in profiles
- fix a light control bug
- but the light control is still broken on devices that don't support the 'trigger' interface
- allow renaming of custom presets
- renamed to RootDim
- better control over extra lights (still maybe not perfect)
- added support for additional devices
- fix for Archos Gen8 firmware bug
