About this app

Skred is the first secure peer-to-peer instant messaging app - No need for an email address or phone number to use it.

Skred is free, without subscription, without a provider, without a SIM card, and without leaving a trace.

Skred is developed based on privacy-by-design and leverages the highest levels of authorization encryption. Skred enables an anonymous, unique and secure connection with each of your contacts. Only the two participants in a call can communicate with each other excluding anyone else.
With an interface that is easy to use without impacting the learning experience, Skred enables easy exchange of messages, images, videos, voice calls and video calls.

The SkredBoard, which is accessible by simply swiping down, allows for generating many identities that are separated from each other for absolute confidentiality. You can also use groups to exchange with several friends at once.

When you delete a message on Skred, it also disappears from the mobile phone of your caller.

All exchanges are encrypted from start to finish, from mobile to mobile. They are not stored on any server. The encryption technologies are open source and based on the work of hackers and hacktivists of the Guardian Project.

Skred originated from the Skyrock Group, which in turn came from the free radio movement in France. It defends freedom of expression on the air and on the internet.

With Skred, you are free!

Only real wifi only messaging app ive found, super versatile! No need for a phone number, great for no service when switching carriers, send reminders to your other devices, message on tablets/old devices, backup if wifi calling is not working and in a dead zone, like hospitals, and am very grateful to the developers for that. Used it for years and was very helpful. I havent used the new version yet but it seems they added a lot more than texting, and im very glad it is still available.

I've only used this app for 2 days, but it works flawlessly for me. I don't have any issues and it works just fine. It doesn't require any phone numbers, emails, and if you want to add or talk to people, all you have to do is scan (or have the other person scan) a QR code on a phone then you'd be able to talk to them. This works well with my friends that don't have SIM cards or anything, so I definitely recommend! Good app. :)

Very good texting app that ensures proper privacy (-1) star for the fact that phone and video calls are not exactly smooth, I never managed to have it go as good as on any other platform.. Also files are pretty slow to upload and download but I guess it's part of the charm aha

Hello, thank you for your feedback. Calls adapt to the available bandwidth between you and your contact, as well as to the phone’s capabilities. Downloads are done peer-to-peer, so please keep the app in the foreground on both sides during the transfer. If the system pauses the application, it won’t have enough time for large transfers.
